PSU schadenfreude

I just really have this feeling it's going to be Matt Campbell. He's a man of integrity and I could see him being the coach who says he still has a team to coach in a bowl game and wouldn't want the announcement until after. It's just smelling that way. But, they have been reaching out to other coaches so I dunno.

He told the media early on he will not address any questions regarding other coaching positions and stated he instructed his agent that he would not speak to anyone who desired to speak to him until after his season was complete.

His agent? Much has been made of the fact that he doesn't have a personal agent. Regardless...say what you want in front of the cameras. When your phone rings, you answer it. If not, maybe he's happy in Ames. (could there be a more oxymoronic phrase?!)

Becht
Hansen
Sama
Burkle
Brahmer

Plus 3 starting linebackers, and 2 starting corners coming off injuries, are all returning as of now. That feels like an early season L for Iowa if Matt Campbell sticks around. So I am with Fry, give me the ISU implosion now. Golesh is off the table, so let Pollard settle for some 2nd tier whoever in mid-January.

Btw, if Burkle, Neal(linebacker), Eskildsen and some others want to make a new home 120 miles East…I’m here for it.:)

Hilarious they are turning to Matt Campbell. I mean no disrespect to Campbell, he's a good coach and has done wonders at ISU but he is not an upgrade over Franklin.

That's the point. There are only a dozen men on this planet who are. This is the difference between impulse schools like PSU and Nebraska, and process driven schools like Iowa. PSU had no plan. They had a want. The want was more than 10-11 wins and playing for natties. They concluded that they were not going to get that under Franklin (and they were probably right) and so they fired him. But, they had zero plan as to what to do next. They were like, "hey, we are Penn State, the best and the brightest will flock to our door step and beg for this job." But, when reality set in, every candidate that will consider them is lateral or worse than who they just fired.

Wanting to win more is not a plan.
Firing a good coach without a plan to obtain a better coach is not a process.
As Nebbie has shown us for two generations now, without adults in the room with a process and plan on HOW to achieve sustained success, you are nothing more than toddlers screaming, "MORE!"

I am enjoying watching PSU sit in their own stink. I hope they wreck ISU football to solve their tantrum.

Surprisingly quiet on Cyclone Fanatic boards.

They must think they're too good for Soupy to leave their shithole town.

I won't share info because it's from an insider site, but on PSU's 247 board, they're talking about what they're hearing from people close to the situation in State College, Iowa City, and at the national level. Poor Ames. At least they still have good water.

I noticed this too. They're in denial that a coach would leave the best program in the nation for PSU. There is quite a bit of talk about it on 247 though. Most of it right now is about the State College/Iowa City quote. And yes, I'm being serious. But they're not our little brother.

That bazillion dollar CyTown is gonna be hilarious when it looks like East St. Louis in a few years after five 4-8 seasons.

They're saying KF is coming to PSU?
