That's his overarching issue still today I think. The guy is capable but for whatever reason won't fully apply himself. Maybe that's why he didn't end up wanting to be at Iowa. Iowa wasn't going to let him loaf off. They woulda demanded his best and got that out of him. I'll maintain this had came here he woulda been a top 5 pick maybe even 1 overall. He coulda been Orlando Pace kind of dominant. He didn't want to be that though. He wanted to cash checks and goof off down there. It's too bad but it's his life he has to live with the consequences

Yes, you are right in that he will be just fine. But what could've been is what we are talking about here. I am sure he has made plenty of NIL money at Alabama to keep his bills paid for a long time.

I think what happened is what was meant to happen. If he truly wasn’t down for doing what the Iowa staff expects, he probably would have had a bad time in IC and probably quit or transferred anyway.

He got a ton of NIL and won a ton of games at Bama and likely will still be a 2nd round draft pick at worst.

I know somebody who works at SE Polk schools and says he’s one of the nicest kids around. I don’t think he’s like a lot of other high level athletes and that’s ok.
