Proctor is about 50 lbs heavier than the average NFL OL, I'm interested to see if he can make that work.

Wirfs is 2" shorter and 40 lbs lighter. Same size as Dunker as a matter of fact.

How Bama has handled him is interesting cause they've kept him huge. I have to wonder if Iowa woulda done everything they could've to have gotten him under 330-340. He's just a huge dude. But if you can't move laterally it doesn't matter. And he can he's not stiff. But if he was 50 lbs lighter he'd be quicker and plenty powerful enough still. I don't think Bamas gotten the best out of him at all and had he came to Iowa and dedicated himself he would've. His loss

If the information can be believed that Lester is good with the QB room as is, then we can expect more passing next season. Heck beat out Hank as the season progressed and I don't see him giving it back absent injury. He is undersized, but so was Drew Tate. What we have returning at WR that has any sort of track record is size, but not speed. We need to go find another Sam Phillips in the portal. Next year's offense is going to look a lot different than this years, and there will be a lot more spinning the ball.

So you're saying we're gonna see a Tate-Holloway? I'm in.

I thought Proctor was a sure-fire top-5, but I hadn't really been following things. I just looked around at the first 5 mock drafts that came up in google search, and I say him projected at #2, #5, #14, #25, and #32. Pretty wild to see that kind of variability, but I suppose any yahoo can throw a mock-draft on the internet.

It didn't work out with the Hawks, but man, what if? We upgrade our LT and our interior as Lauck slides inside (as either a starter or a rotation piece). Hopefully we see a few 1st-round OL coming down the pipe pretty soon.

I think we dodged a bullet with Proctor. Lots of red flags. Many of which KF chose not to share, but IF he would have bought in to the system, put his nose to the grindstone, but I get you, he would have definitely made us better, and I'm guessing would have helped his draft stock.

Speaking of Pierschbacher, he was a total fizzle when he got to the bigs (played in 4 games total), probably similar to what Proctor will be, IMO. Iowa doesn't have that happen typically with a guy who's so touted in college. RP was 3 time all conference in the SEC and a team captain at Bama.

KF and crew are better at creating pros with what they have to work with. I mean of course Alabama is going to have more pro superstars than Iowa...they're Alabama. But if you're talking making a guy into a really good pro...Iowa is better than just about every school out there.

Iowa takes definitely a different approach to recruiting. Some of which is by necessity. They build and develop. Thus, they tend to look through the optics of maybe not a 5 star athlete in football, but potentially a 3 star athlete who is a multiple sport athlete.

Look at a lot of our linemen. Many were decent high school wrestlers or etc. Heck Brandon Scherff was a state tennis qualifier out of Denison, Iowa!

I think it also allows Iowa to see that maybe an athlete has yet to peak or reach his full potential since they have not completely focused on football. Gives room for growth and development rather than getting a finished product that has essentially peaked.

It'll be interesting at least to me how Dunkers career goes compared to that 74 that went down to Bama. If Dunker was a LT he'd be looked at higher I'm sure but the dude is going to have a great career in the NFL I have no doubt about it.

From what little I've kept up with Proctor he's not been anything close to what he's been hyped up to be. Has all the tools and size but hasn't put it together on the field. He doesn't dominate and stand out at all like he should. How the NFL looks at him will be interesting. He shoulda been a top 5 border line top overall pick caliber LT. Doesn't sound like he's gonna be anywhere close to that unless he just blows everyone away at the underwear olympics and a team just falls in love with him.

When I watched him the little bit when he was at SE Polk, I came away thinking he played a bit lazy, not getting 20 yrds downfield, and not that good of footwork. If you were right in front of him on the line, he'd plow you over but he just didn't seem to take over the game like I thought he would.

But, that was yrs ago when he a senior in HS.

If he can avoid major injuries, he will get a 2nd contract. I realize that is a pretty big “IF”. Won’t be shocked if he starts as a tackle and ends up a guard.

Had he put in the work he would have easily been a top 5 pick. He should have came to Iowa.

I kinda lost track Richman but Colby was starting a few games at guard for the 9ers. I know Richman is on the Seahawks but I hadn't heard if he's played much. Not many late rounders like them make rosters let alone end up starting games.

My opinion the biggest issue with WR is we need a position coach that has played the position not a guy that played QB. WR is one position that has so many little nuances that can help and if you have not played the position or have gotten coached up at the position I think you see the issues we have with guys getting separation and catching.

Budmayr from what has been reported is a great guy and a competent coach that has brought value but I think we can do better at that specific position that has been a weakness for many years.

I think they were hooping that Kelton Copeland was that guy but as we know it didn't work out.

RE WR - Show me the money. I'd like to see one tall, athletic WR that can go get the ball, two would be better.

RVZ has the size but not sure about the speed.

In out lcose losses, it was hard seeing those talented WRs get those crucial catches against us when our DBs were right on them playing good D. Maybe we need an upgrade at DB talent.

This is my wish list as it looks like they are not going after a quarterback. All 3 are high demand positions that are not cheap, but there are some under the radar dudes if you can find them.

edge rusher: I thought Hurkett/Llewellyn were a little underwhelming. Not a dig against those hardworking guys, but I was expecting more late stage Joe Evans. Maybe that was an unfair expectation. Merriweather, Lose and whoever else have to take a major step up if they can’t find someone in the portal.

interior D-lineman: Very expensive and in high demand, but if you can find a athletic, 270, 280 lbs. Tyler Luebke type, that can get penetration and/or pass rush…sign me up.

That's his overarching issue still today I think. The guy is capable but for whatever reason won't fully apply himself. Maybe that's why he didn't end up wanting to be at Iowa. Iowa wasn't going to let him loaf off. They woulda demanded his best and got that out of him. I'll maintain this had came here he woulda been a top 5 pick maybe even 1 overall. He coulda been Orlando Pace kind of dominant. He didn't want to be that though. He wanted to cash checks and goof off down there. It's too bad but it's his life he has to live with the consequences
