Indiana

Opponents:

Indiana State
Kennesaw State
Old Dominion
Illinois

Would Iowa be 4-0 with that schedule?
Yes, but we wouldn’t have put 73 on Indiana St. and we wouldn’t have put 63 on Illinois. Probably around 34 and 24. It will be tough for Iowa to stop the passing attack but we shouldn’t get blown out.

Old Dominion held them to 27! I think we should be hoping to keep them around 20.

Interesting matchup. Indiana with a very tough first road game so how will they handle the raucous crowd that is on top of them. Not many if any of their players have played in a stadium with the crowd right on top of them. Then Iowa playing a team that seems to be able to score at will and wing the ball around.

I'm hoping this isn't as terrible of a matchup as it seems for Iowa. I guess we are lucky that Iowa is playing them this early and getting their first road game.

The outcome of the Indiana game determines whether the Hawks go 5-4 or 4-5 in B10 play.

Its not just the wins, it is the way they won. That offense is lethal and the defense is good too. Illinois at Iowa is probably a push. Indiana at Iowa State would be a damn good game.

Indiana has a Top 10 win at home. Iowa has a Top 10 loss on the road. Certainly possible those would flip, but I would not use that to underestimate Indiana. My eyes saw what they did to Illinois.

Yes, they are solid all around which is what is very dangerous and baffling. What that coach has done in 2 years is unbelievable as he had to reconstruct their O-line again this year. He hit the portal. He has done this at pretty much every prior school as well, turning around teams in the matter of one season or two. It's a gift of his. He'll be at a blue blood program in no time, I feel.

So long as it's not Nebraska

Hurkett, Graves, and Llewellen are the keys to this game. Our secondary and LB squad are WAY in over their heads. Get to the QB we have a puncher's chance. Fail to do that and rely on Lutmer, Entringer, Nwankpa, Hall, and Lee...it could be a 40 point game.

I also don't give us the edge in a close one because Stevens is regressing again like he did in '23.

Hold the phone boys...slow down.

People said the exact same thing about Scott Frost and Luke Fickell
