Someone needs to explain to me out of Oregon, Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State how the 3 Big Ten teams that make the CFP aren't one of those four schools. This whole question starts with that right there.

This. The only path is 10-2. It actually probably doesn't have to be a loss to Oregon or Penn State, because if it is to someone else, that means you beat both of those teams. So, it could be USC on the road. The point is, if they are 10-2, the two losses are to ranked teams, and you have at least 1 Top 10 victory and probably another Top 25. That is a much better resume than Indiana had last year. 10-2 gets us in. Very unlikely to happen.

There is no way the Hawks are making the playoffs this season. Too many questions on defense with the teams we have yet to play. If we were in the Big 12, we'd have a way better shot as that conference is terrible. When ISU or Texas Tech are your best programs, you suck.

We used to have a dog when I was a kid that loved to hunt.

He got older to the point that he could barely get up and walk around, half deaf, half blind. But if you got a gun out that dog would jump up and yelp in pain, run for the garage doing circles and just about piss on the floor. Couldn't hunt but I'd take him out to the range and let him walk around in the grass while I shot clays. Then he'd go home and lay on the floor too sore to move for a few days recovering.

KF and guys like that, their brains are wired the same way. You don't live that lifestyle for over 40 years and function well without it. WIllie Nelson is 92 and has played 52 shows so far this year, and in the decade of his 80s years he averaged over 150.

Guys like that don't live long after 50 years of adrenaline goes to zero cold turkey.
