According to a thread on reddit there's "At least one prominent starter on offense and several others have tested positive and will miss Saturday’s Big Ten title game against Northwestern. " As of now the game is still on.

That makes me wonder if Northwestern will have a fighting chance, assuming they still play. Then I wonder how the committee treats Ohio State that barely won against Northwestern but had players out. If Ohio State cannot play does Northwestern get declared the Big Ten champ?

Tomorrow should be interesting

Just my luck. I laid down a bet on OSU to cover 20 points just before this news broke.

Unless it is Justin Fields I do not think jNW can keep up with OSU. jNW offense is not very strong, just average or less. OSU will score with Fields and I do not think jNW can keep up with the point chase unless 3 or 4 defensive starters are also out.

Question is will OSU be able to play if the infected players were in contact with the team.

There should not be a de facto champion if there is no championship game. You have to win it on the field.

So yeah what happens to this game? Do they back it up a day or 2? A week if it came to it? Or at what point do they cancel it?

I googled and found this article from today which quotes Rick Neuhisel saying it is a star wide receiver who has covid. OSU will just plug in another star wide receiver.

If true, that is a lot better than having your star quarterback out, for sure.
