The Gophers announced quarterback Zack Annexstad will be out indefinitely after suffering a foot injury during Friday’s practice.

"Injuries are an unfortunate part of the game, and we feel terrible for Zack," Fleck said in a team statement. "He worked extremely hard in the spring and summer to put himself in position to compete for the starting job, and I know he will recover from this setback to be even stronger. Zack is an elite teammate and person, and I look forward to him being an important part of the team as a leader while he is recovering.”

Annexstad battled through injuries last year, while starting the first seven games for the Gophers. He finished 2018 with 1,277 yards and nine touchdowns, including a 52 percent completion percentage. The sophomore quarterback was showing tremendous progress this spring and looked poised for a breakout year.

They guy had already been unofficially demoted to 2nd string. The Gophers went 3-4 last year when he was starter in their first 7 games. Then he got hurt and his replacement went 4-2 the last 6 games.

Not sure what you are bitching about. The team speed has been improving. Hawksvwill be competitive. Not sure the qb is a breakthrough qb and who the punter will be. Inexperience at certain positions. Tough schedule. Beyond that whats not to like?

Don’t know who you’re after. Some troll I hope. I am a die hard hawkeye fan that bleeds black and gold. If I’m guilty of anything, it is the fact that I am always overly passionate about the Hawks. I always hope the Hawks go undefeated every year. I know my expectations are a little over the top some years, but I’m also realistic in the end. I’m getting on in years and have been following the Hawks since I was a boy. Would like to see the Hawks win a NationalTitle in football and/or basketball before I shake off this mortal coil. I hope that answers your question if I’m a troll or not.
