Watched a fair amount of Iowa matches today, and, well, not very encouraging.

Lee was his usual spectacular self, and Kemerer looked great. Marinelli was upset in a very close match with Massa. I was concerned going into that match and it turned out prophetic. Marinelli missed out on a TD with possible back points at the end of the 2nd literally by less than a second, and he was in on a shot in SV, but allowed Massa to get position.

Wilke, Turk, Gunther, Glynn and Holloway were their usual selves. Glynn and Holloway really stunk it up. Even Sorenson returned to some bad habits, and barely squeaked it out with almost zero offense. Stoll as usual is getting by with his Greco-Roman style.

As a team, we are basically already out of it in a distant 4th as of right now.

As I was typing, Wilke lost looking pathetic against Brunner of Purdue.

Stoll just dominated his match! Iowa has many wrestlers that are advancing. This team is making sone hay for sure.

We advanced a total of 4 wresters to the semifinals with very few bonus points, and that's your idea of making "hay?"

Besides a few the Iowa wrestlers looked awful. Glynn is the best option at 133? Bowman and Cash look as if they have no interest. Bad when Iowa is not even Top 4 in the Big Ten!! Sure hope Brands can get a few transfers because Iowa wrestling needs something.

Yeah, it's kind of sad really. There is just such a huge gap between our few studs and the rest of the roster.

I do think things are looking pretty good next season. Adding Warner, Murin and Lugo definitely will boost this squad, but I still don't see us anywhere near PSU unfortunately. They are other-worldly and bringing in another stud recruiting class once again.

I agree Warner,Lugo and Murin will be a big help to the young stable of studs in the lineup now. But how does Iowa not address 133,( think will be fine at 141) 174 and 182? Nothing coming in next year to help at them weights. I keep hearing HWC is doing great things and the $$$ flow is growing daily. 2020 should be a monster recruiting year for the Hawks! Let’s hope so because I’m about tired of PSU on the top of the podium all the time. Go Hawks!

There are clearly multiple recruiting violations at pedo state and at the suckeye university. After these investigations are complete and the pay to play violations are uncovered they will be forced to forfeit or vacate these wins anyways. So whatever they are doing now don’t count. I am not even paying attention to those cheats at this point. In addition there may be steroid use, I would not put it past those cheats.

Among the upstanding programs Iowa is the nations premier program. After the cheating programs receive their death penalties the program that does it right will go right to the top.

These are interesting allegations. I’ve heard several times PSU & tOSU are cheating, but it’s been vague. Do you have any specifics? I’d like to see some fire where there is smoke.

There are currently investigations going on that will reveal those specifics.

Iowa is also looking great for next year. They are returning every weight class except for 149. Transfer Pat Lugo is ready to step in there. Iowa’s lineup will be strong next year.

How many years in a row do fans scream, "NEXT YEAR WE'RE RECRUITING WELL!", and then none of these guys work out? At what point is it the guys that are there every year and produce the same ol' garbage?

Not saying you're wrong, but if you are going to post stuff like that, you better be prepared to provide some links and/or evidence, otherwise it reeks of classic trollism.
