Iowa offered a scholarship to Jeremiah Francis on Monday. The Columbus (OH) PG and son of a former Ohio State standout talked to HN about the opportunity:

Well, Francis is certainly the kind of off-the-dribble PG a lot of Iowa fans crave. To me, this offer is a line thrown at the idea that Thad Matta might retire soon. In that case, Fran might have a chance between coaches at tOSU.

That would be the only scenario in which Francis would go anywhere other than tOSU it sounds like. And if Matta retires he'd still almost for sure go to Columbus.

He probably will go to Ohio State, but he sounds like a really good kid from a good family. I hope the best for him.

Rob or anyone know anything about this AJ Green kid from Cedar Falls? Thought it was interesting reading the other day that we hadn't offered him at all but we are offering other '19 PGs? Thanks

He's a 2018 recruit and we don't have any open scholarships.

Ahh, thanks, for some reason in my head I thought he was a 2019 recruit. Hoping we are staying in touch with him at least in case of attrition. What year is the kid out of North?
