The regular season is over. There could be early departures for the NBA, transfers, etc. But we should have enough information to make an educated guess when it comes to next year's Big 10 race. Plus it gives us something to talk about until tip off tomorrow. I am going to assume Swanigan and Bridges will leave for the draft.

Way too early .. ..

Having said that, I think Maryland is too high, especially if Melo leaves. Indiana is too low. The have only one senior and were hit pretty hard by injuries this year. Whether Crean is coaching or not, they have a lot of talent.

Other than that .. I won't argue .. ..

GO HAWKS!!!

WI is waaaaaay too low. Sorry, but they haven't finished outside of the top 3 in I think 13 years now.

MN, Iowa and MSU should vie for the B1G championship. IN could be in that discussion as well depending who comes back and how OG recovers from his ACL. PSU is also loaded w young talent.

This is the post Bo Ryan era. Wisconsin is done.

16 straight years of top 4 B1G finishes for Connie.
Impressive, but, yes, The Grinch isn't walking through that door, anymore.
Iowa isn't the dumpster fire, it once was, so in-state talent, won't be looking at Wisconsin (Uthoff, Bohannons, etc.)

Unfortunately, Wisconsin plays too good of defense to be lower than half the teams. I'd have them between 6-8, though.

I love the Wisconsin pick. I'll love it more if it happens.
Bo is gone. None of their underclassmen other than Happ have impressed me. And we showed everyone how to defend Happ...1-7 from the line against Iowa and 47.8% for the year. Foul him. And this is what walks out the door.

Koenig - 30.8 minutes and 14.2 ppg
Hayes - 32.0 and 13.5
Showalter - 28.6 and 8.2
Brown - 20.8 and 6.8

That's 56% of the minutes...important because Bo taught those 4 how to defend. And that's 59% of their scoring. Happ makes up another 20% of the scoring.

The cupboard is bare (other than Happ) and Bo is gone.

We showed how to defend Happ? Now that's funny.

I'd bet the house they finish in the top half of the league. They play strong D and have a great home court advantage at the Kohl Center.

I think Minnesota got hot and played way above their ceiling more so than are just that good.
We'll agree to disagree. I remember watching Mason and Murphy last year and thinking they will be outstanding players. Neither took a step back this year. All they lose is their 5th leading scorer. The top 4 return.

I don't think they just got hot. This is what happened (in their losses) before their winning streak.

Lost to MSU in OT 74-75
Lost 47-65 @ MSU
Lost 50-52 @ PSU
Lost to WI in OT 76-78
Lost @ OSU 72-78
Lost to MD 78-85

They really only had 2 clunkers all year @ MSU and @ WI on Senior Day.

Minnesota was pretty lucky this year. In their win streak they had six home games. I doubt they can sustain it next year. Maryland always has a ton of talent, but never live up to the hype. Indiana probably will have a new coach next year. It will be interesting to see how Iowa does, but there are a lot of factors involved. It will also be interesting to see how Wisconsin does. It usually takes a year or two before you can really see the effects of a new coach on a team. They have a lot of talent, but they fell apart the last part of this season.

They certainly got lucky against Iowa. But I don't see much luck here.

Ehhh, Minnesota is a lot like Iowa, a young team figuring it out. Pitino, Jr. could eff this up, but I doubt it, not next year anyway. The length they have in the frontcourt and the ability to adapt to any style of basketball you want to play, makes Minnesota scary good.

I think they will compete for the title, im just not sure they have enough 3pt shooting. They average only 6.3 made 3s this year and they lose their top 3pt shooter. Not sure who Pitino has coming in.

I refuse to kick dirt on the Wisconsin program until it is blatantly obvious. The last 15 years that athletic department has figured it out. I am rooting that you are right because it makes Iowa's life so much easier, but I need to see it.

It's definitely tough to win without at least 2 reliable perimeter shooters.

I don't think they're a bd pick or anything. Hell I might even pick them myself. I just won't be surprised if they end up .500 in conference next year.

They were all over Happ from the first possession. Best interior the Lads have played this season.....

He broke away on occasion, but he had him under control. I did like Bohannon's cyber warfare when Happ was shooting free throws late in the game. Happ missed his first free throw. Jordan walked in front of him, slowly, talked to the Hawks on the line, then strolled behind Happ who, of course, missed his second free throw......

Love how the Hawks have been coached. Happs foul came from a missed Hawk free throw. Pensl jumped into Happ almost as soon as the ball was released......Happs the man

We want on the line at crunch time.....

Best coached Hawk team under Fran so far......

And the best is yet to come.....

Melo just might jump to the NBA, at least test the waters after making the first team B1G.....

Not certain that he will make the cut though.....
