Anyone else frustrated?

Am I the only one who gets frustrated, or bummed about Iowa Football watching the Big 10 Championship?

I mean, we had a great last 3 games to end the season to "save" it. But it's frustrating watching this game and Iowa not playing in it. With the returning roster, there's no reason why we shouldn't have been playing for the Title.. and constantly playing for it.

With Hawkeye fans as the best in the Country, with one of the most historic and beautiful Stadiums in the country, with one of the TOP Facilities in the Nation, there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to compete for 9 wins every season.

Maybe I'm just being a negative nancy, or maybe it's because I live 25min from Wisconsin and have to deal with the Badger fans and the success they've been having the last few years in Basketball and Football..

But man, seems like we constantly under perform (12-0 was phenomenal last season, but we didn't win the Rose Bowl or the Big 10, so we have no banners to hang).

Long story short, I LOVE the Hawkeyes and our players, but it just seems like Ferentz and the Coaches never strive for the next level of play. And that's sad.

It's a lot less frustrating watching Wisconsin dominate today. It's hard to think we should have won that game if they're this good. Without beating them, the only way we win the West is to beat every other conference team on the schedule and that is a tall task. What really frustrates me is how Wisconsin just refuses to go away.

One of the more frustrating things is our team was HOT TRASH during the mid part of our schedule.. And if this team as of the last 3 weeks is playing like they during the middle half of our schedule, do we have more than 2 losses? Seems like we always finish the season a "day late, and a dollar short".

I don't think they are going away anytime soon at least in football. They have already appeared in 4 of the 6 B1G championship games and given how the West is currently set up they will probably have a lot more appearances.

If Iowa had the dominating defense Wisconsin has year after year (I'm not referring to, necessarily, a 3-4 defense), Iowa would be in the B1G championship year after year..

I don't know how you can say this. If our defense was equal to Wisconsin, our offense would have to be better than theirs to have an advantage.

True but even if we played good the entire year, there is still a good chance we lose to Wisconsin and Penn State (or maybe Michigan comes in more fired up and beats us if our record was better) and still don't win the west. Wisconsin had such a good season that it would have taken an amazing season to get to Indy. I would have been a lot more frustrated if Wisconsin would have lost one more game, because then all we would have needed to do is beat Northwestern.

A great defense would keep Iowa in every game. That's Iowa's biggest fault:a defense that isn't dominant.

It will not happen next year Iowa and Nebraska likely take a step back. NW maybe but I doubt it.

The issue wasn't defense this year (maybe against PSU, but everything was an issue that game). with avg offensive priduction, we beat NDSU, NW, and probably Wisky this year...wouldn't have mattered if we had beat Mich...Iowa would be playing tonight for a chance for revenge on PSU.

Wisky has had great defense...but they've had above avg offense for most of their run as well.

Somebody spoke too soon. PSU stopped Corey Clement short on 4th & 1 to seal the deal. I was really happy to see Wisconsin lose, but it reminded me of what could've been had Iowa just tackled LJ Scott instead of letting him slip away.

If Iowa played like they did the final three weeks we'd more likely than not be sitting on 12-0 again. Iowa's D was inexplicably outright dominating the last three games.

I hate Wisconsin too. Unless they're playing Pedo State. Talk about a no win situation.

I remember how awful wisky was in football and basketball in the 80's and early 90's. Then Alvarez showed up and now they have passed us in athletics. Its really not even close anymore.
