I agree with that. But my argument was against someone saying stars don't matter. People think just because rating services are flawed, they are worthless. It's pretty short sighted.

I know what you are saying. I'm saying stars only matter with 4 or 5 star kids, because everyone knows who the top 300 kids are. After that, they are pretty terrible at identifying the other 200 or so 4* kids out there. So you are right, the top 10-20 recruiting classes are obviously the best classes (not because Rivals says so, but rather those schools are winning recruiting battles against other elite/good school). It is the area that the rest of the college football world lives (the Iowa's, Wisconsin's) in that 20-50 range that rankings don't make a difference. IE there just a very slim difference between #26 and #47.

Completely agree.

When Iowa plays the top teams in big games...the other teams, mostly loaded with highly rated recruits, appear to be quicker and faster.

Are we getting quicker and faster? It seems so...we will see. Should be fun to watch.

I know scheel won the starting battle over smith but does that mean smith will get limited plays in games I sure hope not. I think u have to find a spot for the guys that can make plays. Hope he's not going to be burried now
