We probably aren't recruiting to win big 10 titles, but Fran is developing and coaching good enough to win one. He didn't have great recruits on last year's team and we came really close. Unless you think he should recruit good enough to run away with them, all you can ask for is we have a shot. We had a really good shot last year. Just needed a couple breaks.

DP just summed it up perfectly. We will not win a BIG title with CW or JBo at PG. If that statement is fact, Fran has failed to recruit the roster effectively. That's all I've been trying to tell you rubes.
CW is NOT a BIG PG and Fran has failed to recruit 1 that is. And this team will suffer because of that.

Sweet, just give us your name and experience in basketball and then we can decide if you actually can match BB knowledge with others. I mean you don't expect us to all just sit back and take your word that you are some BB savant?

I agree about last year. And we should be in a better position this year, at PG, then we are. That's on Fran. Fran was a PG, for goodness sakes. He should be able to recruit players that play that position. What's the problem?
He didn't say we won't win one with them. He simply said no one is saying they will win one. Maybe they will and maybe they won't. If Cook, Moss, and Jok all look like first team big 10 players this year, we win a couple close games, and teams like Wisconsin lose a couple of close games, we can win one with CW and JB at point.

Derp....a basketball is round. It needs to be bounced or it is bad for the offense. Ask DP or PC....they'll tell you.
The problem is things don't always go as perfect as planned and Fran would rather take best available player than whichever point guard he could have gotten. You have to look at his job as a whole and decide how he's doing. Don't just cherry pick the worst parts.
I just don't get people's lack of basic logic. It's completely random that the one position he has recruited the worst happens to be point guard. People are dumb enough to think that randomness means Fran has some inability to recruit the point guard position. What possible reason could there be that good point guards steer clear of Fran but the other 4 positions are cool with him? It's not like he is bringing in guys that don't pan out because he doesn't know how to evaluate that position. If anything, it's just the opposite and he evaluates it too good and goes after kids who end up too good and go to bigger programs. He doesn't suck at recruiting point guards. He just has had a bit of bad luck at that random position.

We didn't win a B1G title with BJ, Marble, Horton, Bullard, Moses, Jepsen.....I mean BJ was a complete and total flop, right?
The limb I went on is saying a ton of things can happen around the point guard position that can affect whether we win or not. It's not as black and white as saying "our point guard situation isn't great so there is no way we can win".

I'm not trying to attach some logic to it. I'm attaching blame to Fran by pointing out that we will not win a BIG title with CW or JBo at PG. It's only taken 18 pages for you guys to finally come around. Better late than never.

No. But being in the discussion for a BIG title was a certainty with BJ at PG. It's not even in the realm with CW at PG.

That's what I'm saying. There's no way we can win or even finish in the top 3 in the conference with our current PG situation .
How do you know we won't win one with them? Because we haven't won one in 30 years so you think it's a safe thing to say to sound smart. Way to go out on a limb there. I can pretty much guarantee we won't win a national championship with CJ at quarterback. Some serious thin limbs we're going out on with projecting things won't happen that never happen at iowa.
