Willies Tearing It Up at JUCO: Ferentz's Biggest Mistake To Date?

Kid quit, how is the a mistake by KF? Maybe if you wanna say that KF recruited a kid who is selfish and was gonna walk if he wasn't a full time starter as a RS FR, and KF should have known all that, and therefore should have never recruited him......then maybe, I'll chalk it up to being 1/100 KF fault.

He is saying the mistake was made prior to the kid quitting.

Willies has over 100 yards receiving in each of his past two games, coupled with 3 touchdowns and a ton of catches at the JUCO he ended up at. Guys like that should NEVER EVER have been riding the bench in favor of inferior talent on the Big 10 team with the worst WR corp in the conference last year. As our unathletic WRs continue to get no separation from quality CBs this season, and we are left with playing 2 star true freshmen WRs to try to get a spark, Ferentz and crew are going to have some major regrets on their hands.

Ferentz has made a lot of personnel blunders in his day (i.e. Herb Grigsby, Jake Christiansen, Brad Banks only starting his sr. year, etc.), but is playing walkon caliber WRs over Willies and not welcoming Willies back with open arms when he begged to be put back on the team Kirk's biggest blunder to date?

Maybe he'll come back to iowa next year. PS, the over under on this thread is 7 pages.
With the right attitude and full acceptance from the team, that wouldn't be the worst thing to happen to Iowa football next year. My guess is that there will be exactly zero minutes spent by the staff even thinking, much less doing anything, about it.

It's all good. We don't need talented WRs on this year's squad...our leading receiver is our 2 star backup RB right now. That will strike fear in the eyes of the Big 10.

Willies got a ton of interest when he announced he was leaving. Top coaches saw what Kirk didnt. He went to JUCO so that he could play right away rather than sitting out a year. He's currently ranked the 25th best prospect in all of JUCO. He will be starting for Texas Tech next year. Who will we be starting next year?

Anyone who thinks the staff didnt screw the pooch with this one has their heads in the sand and probably think Kirk is underpaid.

25th ranked JuCo? Lol that's like bragging about having a 2.5 GPA.

Iowalaw is clearly unhappy about the Willies situation. It's pretty obvious that it's an honest opinion. Read the article he linked. The guy in the Q and A needs to read these boards so he will understand how big of a piece of crap Willies is.

JM just lost a lot of ad revenue, because Iowalaw reloaded his page A LOT.

Maybe if people were man enough to not cry over someone else's opinion, Jon wouldn't feel the need to get rid of him. How tough is it to not open a thread started by someone you don't want to read?
