Recruiting map

What is so good about it. high school players in the south and southwest and west coast can practice outside all year long. Throw and catch etc, develop skill players but that map shows no recruits from the warm weather areas.
I am taking the word of other posters that the recruits look more athletic than in the past few years. I hope so.
But just the law of averages would think we would get a few recruits from the other 75% of the country.

I dont think dynasties are built and dismantled based on whether the prospects play catch in February. Everywhere the good recruits train year round. And every school only has football for one season. The rest is training and is usually in a gym or weightroom wherever you live.

IMO, the recruiting map is shaping in a way that can begin to help reestablish the program. We needed to get back into Chicago/Illinois. We've had success out east (especially rich grounds like NJ and Maryland area) and we've started to to grab some guys from there. And The guys that we got outta Michigan are good.

4* = 12
3* = 3 How the heck can a team compete with that?
Michigan St: 4* = 7
3* = 12
2* = 1 Compared since more on Iowa's level
Iowa: 4* = 0
3* = 12
2* = 7 Six more 2* than Mich St. 7 less 4*. A bit alarming.

my remark "good stuff" was really about the display of information. I'd never seen recruits presented on a map like that before. Maybe it's been around for awhile but its new to me.
I see progress. I don't expect Iowa to suddenly go from a 2 star haven to predominantly 3 and 4 stars. You gotta start from where you are.

Ok Simpleton, let me explain it to you.
It's a level we should be at. We were ahead of them & they have embarrassingly passed us up in a matter of 3 years. But, it is a school that is comparable to the level Iowa should be on. Mich St. is not Michigan and should have similar recruiting rankings as teams like Iowa. Wisky is another team that I feel are similar or should be on the same level. Are we now, no. But, those two schools most resemble Iowa, on and off the field, IMO. Of course, that's when Iowa is a healthy program.

You may want to keep this post in mind. Melrose is spot on. I would not be at all surprised to see WI and MSU fall back into the middle of the pack, based on their history. WI may, with yet another new coach and Barry close to retirement, be the first to go. The east coast success is important with the expanded BT footprint, as is the success in the Chicago area. We also have a large number of offers out in Texas and urban Missouri, so watch those down the road. We had great success in the east when Bernie Wyatt was with Hayden. Bernie went to WI and took over the area. Also keep an eye on Georgia offers...another hot bed for the future. We cannot guarantee that Iowa will climb back to relevance, but you are turning a blind eye if you do not know enough about our new recruits and the impact our new recruiting coordinator is having.

The state of Michigan recruiting grounds are far superior to the state of Iowa. MSU has taken full advantage of Michigan being down. Although, I agree Iowa should be on the same level as MSU, I'm looking at things in perspective. I see MSU returning to a more normal level as Michigan will rise again (and soon, if I were to guess). Wiscy will likely level back off (I'm guessing soonish too). Wiscy's return will have plenty to do with the success of Nebby, Iowa, and possibly even Minny. But I'd think Wiscy falls down a notch (hopefully this year) before MSU does.
