Here is the reason... you are Texas. You are the prettiest girl in the class that can have anyone she wants.
The Big 10 has more money, more prestige, better programs, and Texas would add to that dramatically. They would be an elite team joining an elite conference.
The Pac 10 has less money, less history, less prestige. They would esentially be making the Pac 10, to a similar degree that they make the Big XII.
Is Texas really going to base their decision on Texas A&M? Ish don't think so, lots of state schools are in different conferences and they still play each other every year.
The issue for Texas is that the writing is on the wall that the Big XII is finished. And the Big 10 is simply not moving fast enough for their liking. They are not going to be part of the implosion, they want to be as far gone from that as possible by the time it happens.
If the Big 10 called Texas up and invited them now, I would bet the answer would be yes. The question is whether or not Delaney can pull the troops together fast enough on this one.
