Live Spring Game Updates

Oh, did i mention attendance? While other Big 10 schools are bringing in 70,000+ for spring games, we probably had around 700 people there. There were front row seats open. No one was there. No excitement. No gimmicks.

I really like what I see from this team. The defense played strong at all positions. The defense is experienced and it shows. They were all in great position and made plays. It has been clear that King is All-American material. I know add Drew Ott to the All-American list. He is playing so strong this year, and making so many big plays. He will be living in opponents backfields. The new tackles, and Meier are stepping up big time too. The team does not seem to miss a beat even losing an NFL draft pick. The linebackers ones and twos both look good also. I like the depth there. The FG kicking looks very good despite the conditions. The punters did well too even into the wind. The depth at RB is looking great too. This will be a fun team to watch.

Man, give me some of what you are smoking! Or are you drinking the kool-aid? We have good depth along the defensive front, but are really lacking in the playmakers department. We will have to rely on the defense to win games this year. CJ's big arm gives us the potential to hit on some big plays offensively, and we will need a lot of that because I think we will struggle to sustain drives.
 




If you can't catch a ball in spring game, you sure aren't going to catch it with the game on the line in BIG TEN play -
 








Another positive, Wadley had a lot of positive carries without a fumble today. He has a good future with this program.

Is anyone really surprised? No sense of urgency from the Head Coach nor belief in recruiting and playing playmakers they have or had. Everything is geared for the company man, good story, walk-on with zero offers. Recipe for disaster.

I think I speak for the board when I say we wish you would just stfu. Your agent kool-aid provocateur act has long since jumped the shark.
 




I don't think I'm that far off. A lot of people have Ott at least as All Big 10. An all American prediction is not that crazy for him with his ability. The field goal kicking was good 3/3 on long attempts in the first half in windy conditions. To say that is not good would be off base. To say the tackles, Meier, linebackers etc are playing well too is a fair assessment. All of you people that are negative, and insist that no one on here should be allowed to be positive, maybe you should take a hike. Who gives you the right to be thought police? How can it be wrong to say good things about Iowa players? I am sick and tired of all of you people that insist that everyone on here must be negative all the time.
 




Based on today's scrimmage, I don't know why you wouldn't go with Wadley and Mitchell. Mitchell looked almost as quick and elusive as Wadley and is bigger and stronger.

After watching, I turned on the TV to watch a bit of MSU and later Wisconsin. Those two teams have athletes that look to be bigger, stronger and faster. A different level. Cummulative recruiting failure. Time for a new AD and new coach.
 


Hawknick reminds me of the Walt Disney cartoon dog. Let's see, what was his name again? Um.... not Pluto, the other one. Um....... oh yea, GOOFY!
 


Didn't see the game, but appreciate the observations.

Work to do on the oline and passing game it sounds like. 4 months to "clean some things up". :cool: certainly.
