Rumor that our Assistant Coaches Were Soliciting Jobs?

What ever happened to this rumor. Pretty solid authorities were stating that we had multiple coaches contact D 1 programs looking for job opportunities. I don't doubt that Brian Ferentz's agent put some feelers out (as that is how the Ferentzs built a contract dynasty), but who else was out sniffing? Surely something had to come of it, as over a dozen coaches got fired after the season...many right here in the midwest. Did all of our guys get shot down and settle on Iowa? Is Ferentz on the lookout for replacements?

The presser gave me no reason to think that the 2014 staff will be the exact same 2015 staff. So who is out? Who is in? I think it's a no-brainer that the special teams coach has to go. It's also a no brainer that Oklahoma and Michigan just fired some assistants that would be head and shoulders above our assistants on the talent and recruiting front.

IIRC, weren't all the coaching changes that were made 3-4 years ago, GD et al., all done well after signing day and almost right before Spring practices began?

After signing day is when we should want it to be done if it does for sure... It's just not smart for the schools do do any shuffling now really. Unless your upgrading your head coach....

Nobody wants them.

Most likely true. This program is a runaway car with no driver. I have never been so apathetic as now in the athletic program. You have a football coach making top 10 salary, cannot relate to fan base, now admits he has not spent enough time inside the program, will not take responsibility or be accountable. In most other walks of life, he would be fired. Sad. Just stand up and be responsible or leave.

Fran, more talk than results, not far behind. Started from ground zero and will not have a pass much longer.

There is gonna be staff turnover after signing day, bank on it.
If that were true, they wouldn't have had that stupid press conference the other day. The entire point was to announce that no changes will be made. Otherwise, they would have just waited until signing day to say anything. I mean, it's hard to even comprehend that there are people on the planet that don't understand this.

Are you insane? Every school in America has already done their shuffling. Nobody else waits this long.

Thank god for twitter rumours and stuff like that CollegeFootballScoop radio show out of Alabama or something. You made the first week of offseason really fun.

That's because Philbin wasn't hired by the Dolphins until just before signing day. KOK would have had the job offer for about a week by that point, and no one knew he was going to leave. Kirk himself has stated as much.

I’d take an NCAA tourney loss over whatever the hell our football program has accomplished since 2009.

There's a ton of coaches that would be better than ours but if you look at the salaries that OK and Michigan pay do you think they would even consider coming to Iowa for what we pay. They may take a salary cut to work with a great coach but our great coach retired about 10 years ago.

They were not even in the tournament, goodness....we sound like Iowa State football fans when we cling to the notion that it wasn't a play in game.
