Big Ten West Games-Conflicted on Nebby at jNW

Does anyone know what time their game is? For me it all depends on what happens in our game. If we win I'll be be rooting for Northwestern to **** stomp Nebraska. But if we lose I'll be rooting for Nebraska to get embarrassed on national television. Then have the NCAA uncover violations and go all SMU on them. Then I want the Big 10 to give them the boot and all the other power conferences to shun them so they have to end up joining the MAC.

NEB at NW is at 6:30 on BTN

We need NW eliminated. If the Cats enter Kinnick at 3-1, that becomes a must win for Iowa to stay in the race, especially considering they finish with the 3 worst teams in the B1G. One way or another, Iowa and Nebby likely meet with 0 or 1 game separating them, and we can’t have NW out there at 7-1 or 6-2 holding a tiebreaker.

It really comes down to your confidence level in Kirk beating Fitz in 2 weeks.

This is a little bit the way I am conflicted. If Seimian the QB is hurting and Nebby can blast him and jNW the cats come to kinnick at 2-2 . The hawks still need to win against jNW cuz you cant lose at home to them which would give jNW 3 losses

But as I said earlier and you say in your thread above jNW's final big games are probable wins for them.

If Iowa wins every game it doesn't matter....so the correct answer is, Nebraska. It is delightful to see them lose. Plus NW owes them one for last years debacle.

If Penn St hadnt dumped a t#rd when they lost to jNW then we could really pull for the cats. But like I said I came to my senses and admit you cant let nebby win on the road against another challenger

Oh believe you me if I was on a boat with a clown and a nebtard (wait, that's gotta be the start of a joke) I don't know who I'd throw off first.
Tough choice, very tough choice indeed. I think you throw the clown off first. The Nebtard's Air of Arrogance and massively inflated sense of self-importance would help you stay afloat longer.

This whole concept that you should root for another team based on making it easier for Iowa to win the division is strange to me. Its like you are rooting for every single team to go 4-4 so that Iowa can win the division even if it is only 5-3. BUT I don't want Iowa to win the division by default. When Iowa wins it, it should be with a record worthy of a division champ.

I would rather Iowa win its division by going 6-0 against the other teams in its division, then who cares what happens in games not involving Iowa.

So on the last weekend of the 1981 season you didnt care about the outcome of the ohio st-michigan game. You werent rooting for Mich to beat the buckeyes to give the hawks a chance for the rose bowl.

Of course if Iowa wins them all it doesnt matter and right now they are undefeated in the league.

This thread is just to have some discussion. And boy did some posters have some funny posts.

I would rather win the division going 5-3 than get 2nd in the division going 5-3.

^^ very good point

Look, I may be mistaken but 2002 is the only season in forever that the hawks were undefeated in Conf play. The '85 team had a loss, as did the '90 rose bowl team and the '81 team.

The 2004 big ten co-champs had a loss at Mich.

Did Evy have an undefeated and untied team? I will have to look it up.

The point is the odds are very high the hawks will lose at least one or two games upcoming so need to have the other teams lose to help us.

I worry about us winning but I greatly enjoy Nebraska losing as well. No college program is more out of touch with reality then Nebraska's fan base. A shirt I see popping up around these parts now is a photo of Osborne (who you would assume is some sort of demi god going by the populous of Lincoln if you had no idea who he was before) that reads "real men go for 2", in reference to the 1984 Orange bowl a game which they LOST. Even in games they lose they claim a victory.
