Big Ten West Games-Conflicted on Nebby at jNW

I worry about us winning but I greatly enjoy Nebraska losing as well. No college program is more out of touch with reality then Nebraska's fan base. A shirt I see popping up around these parts now is a photo of Osborne (who you would assume is some sort of demi god going by the populous of Lincoln if you had no idea who he was before) that reads "real men go for 2", in reference to the 1984 Orange bowl a game which they LOST. Even in games they lose they claim a victory.

Well, in all fairness, 3/4ths of Schnellenberger's team was probably ineligible and/or paid and only 1/2 of Osborne's team was in that boat, so it seems fair to say that Nebraska was less likely to vacate the game than Miami and thus they should get the title.

If you throw the nebtard off first, the nebtard would say, "like to see you try that in the 80's". Throw the clown off first and he'd hit you with "booooo, ****jng conspiracy anyway"

Just my opinion, but as painful as it is to say I'd rather see Nebby take one from the cats at this point in the season. I see Nebby getting hit with the injury bug late in the year the way they run their workhorse to the ground and I see that possibly catching up with them later in the year. But the thought of actually "cheering" for one or the other makes me throw up in my mouth. I hate all conference foes equally as many do which seperates me from any SEC conference homer. If possible I'd love to see every team not named Iowa go 0 - 8 in conference play...a guy can still dream.

This whole concept that you should root for another team based on making it easier for Iowa to win the division is strange to me. Its like you are rooting for every single team to go 4-4 so that Iowa can win the division even if it is only 5-3. BUT I don't want Iowa to win the division by default. When Iowa wins it, it should be with a record worthy of a division champ.

I would rather Iowa win its division by going 6-0 against the other teams in its division, then who cares what happens in games not involving Iowa.

We have a recent example of a team going 4-4 in conference and going to the Rose Bowl. Wicsonsin did that a few years ago and the perception of their program didn't suffer. All you hear is that Wisconsin has gone to 3 Rose Bowls. I would take winning the division and going to the Championship game no matter what our record is/was. All things equal I'd prefer that happen with a 8-0 or 7-1 conference record.

Meh, only idiots recognize the OSU/PSU probation year as a "true" Wisconsin Rose Bowl. That Rose Bowl/conference title has a bigger asterisk by it than Barry Bonds' home run records.
