Come on people. Of all schools hasn't Iowa proven just over the course of the last 10 years or so that you can win with either type of QB. Iowas won when they had a 5th string rb back there most of the year and they've won with Greene being the bell cow carrying the ball a ton. They've won with a Drew Tate and a Brad Banks and they've won with a Nathan Chandler. I think that the coaches think Rudock is the best of both worlds. He's not a statue back there and he's probably the most book smart kid he's ever had. I'm fired up to see what he can do going forward. As far as Scheel goes I don't know if he'll get a fair shot at it since the next two years he'll have Rudock there plus Beathard and Shimonek all with considerable more time in the program plus 3 other commits. I think it'll be a competition/numbers game problem with Scheel and if he wants to get on the field sooner it'd just have to be at another position. But if this August he comes in and his athleticism impresses he coaches and plays lights out you just never know..
Rudock might be the most book smart, but I think Tate is the smartest QB we've had under Ferentz.
