An even more telling stat: Iowa averages 5.46 yards/play. Which is well behind the 6.18 figure from both 2010 & 2005.

Just don’t get the flea flicker into the wind call…you are running the ball successfully…and you get an empty on 1st down then 2 more passes

So you're only supposed to run that when they expect you to, Jon? When you're running the ball successfully is exactly when you try a flea flicker. The problem was we didn't sell it so they didn't bite. Not to mention it was dropped despite being a tough catch trying to stop and come back to the ball with 2 guys with him...

Actually, when you're running the ball successfully is when you go play action. Flea flicker seems to add an extra risk in bad conditions, and going empty is just asking for trouble when you're going into the wind.

I'm not saying you have to run it, just that it's when you would...and it was there to be caught. We all want Iowa to take more chances and stop being so vanilla and then we still complain when those chances are taken, but don't work.
