EXACTLY WHAT POSITIVE THING DOES ALL THE NEGATIVITY ACHIEVE?

I am really surprised by the negativity on this "fan" site. I don't see what discussing how bad we are achieves; it certainly doesn't help the morale of any fan or players, and could discourage possible recruits. We are 1-1, and people seem to be writing the team off. The assumption seems to be that we will not gain experience, not learn from mistakes, and not improve. WHY buy into that when we have a young team, and it is early in the season? If you watch other college teams and check out the scores, there are plenty of mistakes being made everywhere. The Hawks have a fair chance of winning each of the next four games, and I won't count them out of any game, especially at Kinnick. One step at a time. We broke the losing streak; now we need to get pumped to beat ISU. One thing that attracts players and coaches to Iowa is our supportive fan base; WHAT IS THE POINT of eroding it?

Not a dang thing. GET POSITIVE. It's game week and we gotta get focused. We've got yet another opponent prepping for its Super Bowl right now and we gotta be ready to play them.

You're definitely right, OP. It's almost a lead-pipe certainty that Iowa football recruits rely on this site's posters to gauge fan attitude and support, and current players look to HN for their morale.
I'll do my best to be positive going forward.

It's too bad that so many fall for the "be positive all the time no matter what" new age crap. Reality is both good and bad. Life is good and bad. A lot of folks have been brain washed into believing that if anybody talks about something bad then it's a sin. There is nothing wrong with any of us hear discussing reality. Feel free to post any time you want about anything, but don't try to shut anybody up just because they might mention or even discuss something that may not be "all mighty positive."

What does being positive affect? Do you believe in some new age positive energy vibe? Or do you think all the players and coaches read the board and get down on themselves?

Both of these are ridiculous and the topic starts from a false premise. What you are really saying is you don't like when people are negative and are trying to justify the opinion by saying being negative is pointless when in fact, you being positive is as pointless.

Ill post much more criticism of this awful coaching staff until they prove me wrong and win another Big10 Championship or Kirk is fired.

I'm a realist. The world is not filled with rainbows, teddy bears, and magical fairies sprinkling pixie dust and handing out kool-aid. This is a team with ~.500 talent that is being coached to a below .500 record. Until the coaching staff and/or AD realizes that some massive changes need to be made, then this will be the new normal for the program. I'll still be a fan. I'll still cheer for the team. But I'm going to complain about the direction and results until the results start changing. For another example of this, look at the basketball program starting with the loss to Northwestern State through the 1st year of Fran's tenure. Then look at how the general attitude of the fanbase started to change in years two and three. There is now excitement and hope for the basketball program. The team is exciting to watch, they are WINNING and reaching the POST-SEASON.

Right so don't discuss the negative that's happened in our first two games so we can improve upon it. Let's forget all the bad and let's give it to them!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I enjoy discussing the teams problems with other Hawk fans. But I dont care for people bashing just because they cant get their way on a coaching change. It is the sort of thing that will take care of its self if KF doesnt get this turned around

I feel obligated to advise you to google "sarcasm."

I need step away from this thread. It's just that I've seen friends buy into the only look at positive view of life only to get ruined financially and in other areas of life. It ticks me off when I see this being sold because so many get duped into believing it only to get screwed in the end.
