I believe I gave it a 5 when announced on the basis of keeping Larson. 4 if Larson was not retained. So now its a 4.

Just limited to initial reaction? Underwhelmed. First impressions aren't always correct.

We have not played a single game under Franny Mac.

Perhaps we should hold our hopes a little lower for a while. Because, let's be honest, we are not going to be a very good basketball team next year either.

And, if you look on the horizon, we had better be recruiting some thoroughbreds or it is going to be much of the same.

I want to be wrong.

Funny how all of the blow hards avoid the question. Yeah, I know who you are and I pretty much knew who wouldn't admit. But one of them sure wanted everyone to remember that I predicted big things for Coug. In fact, a couple of them took exception to my analysis of Coug. Funny how things work sometimes. Sure can tell who has credibility and who doesn't.

Not sure what you are seeking here. Were most fans startled when Fran was announced? Sure, his name was never mentioned. Was the knee-jerk reaction skeptical? Yes, as most had no real info on him. So yes, I was among those who were skeptical that first day.
Have I changed my mind? So far, so good,is my attitude. I like what I hear, but no players have been recruited and no games have been played,so only time can tell the tale.

This pretty much sums it up for me. I realize there have been no games played yet, but my optimism for the basketball program is higher than it has been in years. That alone is a minor miracle. I still think we will have a better record next year than we did this.

Never heard of him or read anything about him so I couldn't form a reasonable opinion but felt that there was almost zero possiblility he wouldn't be an upgrade.

Said the same thing over and over. If he doesn't score early recruiting success, he won't be successful. Didn't say it was a great hire, didn't say it was bad. We wouldn't know at this point. But, we should have a sense by November.
