Olaseni 7/11

Look pal, I know you dont post much but this is a direct violation of board rules.

1) No calling out players. You can be critical of situations and circumstances, but posts along the lines of 'Player X Sucks' won't be tolerated. Violators may be banned
Gorney doesn't even go to Iowa anymore, get over it. And like no one has ever called out players on HN, I regularly saw threads last season bashing JO, and GO

Like 136 said, you don't post here much. The harping about the rules is sarcastic. It's part of his schtick, because of how inconsistently said rules are enforced and how he feels he has been a victim of said inconsistent enforcement.

1. Nobody knows how Gabe performed compared to Woody in practice. That was always a belief based upon the assumption that Fran promised Woody a starting spot, which we also have no proof of. It's one thing to make an assertion based on a fact. It's another to make an assertion based upon speculation.

2. You're exaggerating the level of hate that Gabe took early on. Most people recognized he was VERY rough around the edges, but had a buttload of potential.

3.. Gabe has a long ways to go yet. He has a higher ceiling, but he might not reach it while at Iowa. If there were ever a player that could have used a redshirt year, it's Gabe.

Couldn't agree more. But just curious why you are convinced what was posted is not indeed a fact?

Oh, we're interested in facts now, are we? The fact, BasketballMan, is that Adam Woodbury was extended a full ride scholarship by three of the best evaluators of basketball talent in the world (Roy Williams, Thad Matta and Bo Ryan). The fact is that Adam Woodbury was identified by virtually every other evaluator of college basketball talent as a top-50 prospect in his class. The fact is that Adam Woodbury as an eighteen year-old had better statistics in every meaningful metric but one than Gabe Olaseni did as a twenty-one year old. The fact is that his coach chose to play Adam Woodbury more than Gabe Olaseni at an almost 2 to 1 ratio.

Yet you persist in your (factually based, I can only presume) claim that Olaseni will be (and in some cases, is) better than Adam Woodbury.

So what are these facts that you obviously have grappled so hard with to reach your pristine conclusion? (Remember, your evaluations are not facts, so choose your words wisely).

It's just comical how Gabe got drilled in the past, yet now, he's the second coming to many. Nobody would listen when somebody suggested that many times last year, Gabe outplayed the "former second coming" Woodbury in practice. Before it's all said and done, Gabe will be the better player than Woodbury. Period.

This isn't a fact. This is opinion. It's very likely you heard this secondhand since I seriously doubt you've attended an Iowa practice. More likely this was told to you by someone who has never played or coached the center position. Most likely you just made this up.

Any way you shake it, though, opinion. Not fact.

LOL. ok. thanks buddy.

Unless you're a regular attendee, you have no basis for your assertion that Gabe outplays Woody in practice. Unless you've got some super-secret source that you won't reveal, which lends you absolutely zero credibility.

I also am super impressed by the fact that you completely ignored the important parts of my posts, and instead chose to focus on insignificant minutiae. That's what horrible liars do when they need to stall for time, coincidentally.

Looks like your trying to insight a flame war with your "big time post numbers" rule man, and I don't see anywhere where I said Gorney sucked. I am saying our current centers are a major upgrade compared to where we have been under previous coaching.

Plus, trying to be a comedian and derailing a thread is also breaking "the rules". :)

You're wasting your breathe. Nobody is as stupid as basketballman pretends to be. He's some insane moron trolling because his mom isn't making his hot pockets the way he likes them.
