USA Today: Iowa No. 69

I thought it was a pretty fair assessment. Author seemed to actually know the roster a bit rather than simply throwing out names of guys on last year's depth chart. Probably a little more optimistic than most preseason magazines about the Hawkeyes.

Or referencing "little brother" when talking about Iowa....you know how some guys are....."Jake Ruddock, QB for Iowa State"...:) (as an example)

69th.
How many teams are there in the five major conferences? 62?
They put Iowa around dead last not including a couple of independents and the Bigeast.
They obviously think recruiting stars matter!

We are above Indiana, Minnesota, and Iowa State. So that's something.

This summed up the 2012 offense perfectly: Kirksey tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions last season, returning two picks for six, which says much about his athletic ability and the Hawkeyes' impotent passing game

From the article...........

"— Dream season: Iowa starts 6-0, loses at Ohio State, wins another three in a row and splits its final pair to finish 10-2.

Nightmare season: The Hawkeyes lose to NIU, Iowa State and six opponents in league play, finishing 4-8 for the second year in a row."

If scenario A happens I will drive to Iowa City, meet with Barta and tell him to sign kf to a contract that does not expire until kf is 80 years old.

I thought 136 was gonna be all over this when I read it. :D

the main question this year isn't what Iowa's record will be, it's if they'll actually run the hurry up FINALLY. Out of all the years watching Iowa FB, this coming year doesn't really fire me up too much. hopefully they prove me wrong and get an 8+ win season. That for me would be a successful, overachieving year.

I can think of about 8 things that are more important to me than whether Iowa runs a hurry up offense or not this year.
