Top 10 coaches who won't survive the 2013 season

You are trying way to hard to hate on ISU. Its almost terrifying.

IMO, 33 isn't so much hating on ISU. Its more mocking the idiocy of ISU fans celebrating mediocrity. It is hard for me to label it mediocre, as 33 has pointed out, Rhoads has finished below .500 3 straight years. Below average may be a better term. McCarney got fired for doing more than Rhoads has, yet Rhoads is celebrated as if he is the 2nd coming of Hayden Fry.

Ya follow slickdick?

Rhoads has been consistent, no big lows so far (Chizik) Yes, he does need to get over that hump now and there isnt a fan out there that is happy staying where we are currently. We all want him to break out soon. His recruiting seems to be on the rise which is promising. The schedule doesnt help us in any way. Which sucks. I miss the divisions in the B12. There are some big differences in the quality of opponents and divisional situation each year comparative to the McCarney years.

See, it's not hard to follow along.

ISU's B12 recruiting ranks during Rhodes tenure:

2010: 9th
2011: 9th
2012: 10th
2013: 9th

Yahoo Sports: Rivals.com 2013 Team Recruiting Rankings

Quite the improvement.

Sigh......... Whats your point? KState is on the very bottom and they can be damn good. My hope is that we can have some success like they do.

His point is, without looking through Ketchup and Mustard colored glasses, how can you say his recruiting seems to be improving? That's the whole point of every Hawkeye fan on this site who likes to ruffle the feathers of you and your Cyclone buddies. You guys celebrate mediocrity, and act like Rhoads is about to conquer the world when absolutely nothing factual points to that conclusion. It is the definition of delusional.

Rhoads has beaten Iowa two years in a row...that should give him two more years. With the importance of that game within their fan base, he isn't going anywhere. By the way, winning B12 games is hard...geez, cut them some slack.

So being optimistic is equal to celebrating mediocrity. Good to know. I hope to lend that philosophy to Iowa fans in the future when you all do the same.

Someone needs to tell the Bleacher Report about all the momentum Rhodes is building in Ames. When he rolls off another five wins this fall, that momentum is just going to keep on growing too.
Trouble is, Hawk fans may be begging for five wins this fall.... ;/

You arent breaking any ground breaking news here champ. You can probably go back 50 years and thr recruiting ranks arr probably similar.

So let me get this straight then. ISU is bringing in the same type of talent it has for the last 50 years relative to other teams in their conference, but now there is all kinds of optimism that the Clones are going to step up and start being above average regularly now?

Why?

Your very out of touch for many reasons.

An easy way to describe it for you. When Dan was here we had 4 non con games and didn't play a round robin conference schedule. We'd go 3 years without seeing Texas, OU, or TT. Now we play them all and Iowa State's SOS the last 3 years has been in the top 5 every year I believe. Back when Dan was beating up on teams to get to 7 wins, he was doing it with schedules around the 70's.

An easier way to describe it to you. It's like Iowa State winning 6 games with their schedule and Iowa winning 7 with theirs. Every knowledgable football fan realizes the 6 wins is more impressive b/c it came against tougher teams :p

Why does a Cyclone fan have almost 3k of posts on here?

I understand optimism. I'm an optimistic guy. Most of the posters on here know that. I'm optimistic about the chances Ferentz has to turn things around when a ton of people on here aren't. The difference is Ferentz has turned things around at Iowa before. He has brought them to big time bowl games, and he has won some of them. He's proven that he's capable of it, and that the Iowa program is capable of it.

Cyclone fans and the jihadic wing of Cyclone nation over on Cyclone Fanatic are absolutely delusional. You'd make yourself look a whole lot better if you'd just admit that. No factual or historical reference points to any sort of logical reason why the football program might be turning a corner. Not what Rhoads had done, not recruiting, and not some big ugly scoreboard. I seriously think the entire Cyclone fanbase keeps listening to that post game pep talk by Rhoads and feels like everything is still on the up and up... when in reality there's not really any legitimate reason to believe that.
