In Latest Bracketology Iowa is:

6th seed? A hedged bet if ever I've seen one. All this tells me is that people don't know what to make of us.

Actually, it confirms expectations - that Iowa is considered a top 20 - 30 team. He started them at a 7 (= 25th-28th) and has moved them up to a 6 (= 21st-24th).

No hedged bet for me as I wouldn't take them any higher than a 5 seed, which, to me equates to their ceiling of being ranked right around 20th. Given their s.o.s., that's a pretty big step forward.

What the F??? How long was I asleep? Did we beat Kansas in the Atlantis thingy? How did we do in conference??? Did the Gophers figure out that they didn't hire "Rick" Pitino?

Yes Rip you did, it is now 2014 and we are looking forward to next season and seeing how Peter Jok becomes a 1st team all BT player after being named Freshman of the Year this past season.

You have some catching up to do. I can't believe Joe has us a 6 after finishing 3rd in the BT this past season and Mike Gesell was name 2nd team All BT.

All this tells me is Joe's bosses told him to make a new one of these after Kansas got the Wiggins commit...and it's as worthless as it is in December...BUT....I still love looking at it ;)

AWESOME! I'm going to run over to the Football Board to see how we're doing! :D

Edit: Looks like my prediction of a bounce back weren't as accurate as I had hoped...:(

This seems like a reasonable prediction to me based on what preseason expectations will be. There are no guarantees obviously, but I still feel that Iowa could potentially do even better than a 6 seed if things break the right way. I personally felt previously that this team could be potential 4/5 seed material, but who knows?

At any rate, I sure enjoy this much better than being picked to finish 11th in the conference like we were most years from 2008-2011 or so.

We were a 4/5/6 seed this PAST year if Josh Oglesby shoots 33% or better from the arc (IMHO).

Gotta disagree. If Oglesby makes his 3's, Iowa wins a few extra games and gets into the NCAA Tournament, but not as a 4 seed (because of the non-con SOS). Did you see what happened to Oregon? Finished 2nd in the Pac 12, won 28 games overall, and were handed a 12 seed. Maybe Iowa does a little better than that due to the Big Ten being such a good conference last year, but I doubt very much higher.
