Exactly what you'd expect (based Sagarin's ratings) -- slight edge to Iowa.

Live Scores, Live Odds and Game Matchups

Iowa 24-9 ATS, overall and 16-6 ATS, night games
Baylor 16-15 and 10-10.

Iowa is 10-4 overall and 12-1 ATS on 2-days rest.
Baylor is 2-5 in both categories on 2-days rest.

Sagarin ratings: Iowa #17; Baylor #33.

Iowa is 1-8 vs top 25 & 6-9 vs top 50 (current Sagarin ratings)
Baylor is 2-6 & 3-10.

Iowa's NIT opponents' avg current Sagarin rating = 71 (MD=47, VA=43, SB=72, InSU=121)
Baylor's = 87 (BYU=55, Prov=62, AZST=69, LBST=161).

Gotta go with Baylor 73-69 (to ensure Hawks finish this as NIT champs, 74-70, ;))

Should be a great game!

Seeing both games last night at the Garden I give Iowa the edge. I don't think Baylor matches up well physically with the Hawks; just looked to me like they are soft under the basket. Baylor also has a 7-1 freshman at center but he doesn't have the touch, strength or endurance to deal with Woody. I think this is one game where, if a physical style of play is allowed, Woody will be able to dominate.

I also think Iowa's guards will be able to handle theirs, and Dev will have some space to create.

I like Iowa's chances.

I believe w/out a doubt that Iowa finishes this Championship off in style. These kids are focused and are on a mission. This team is a "team" and it's been fun as hell watching this team unfold into an unselfish group that watches each others back...

At this point I expect them to win every game. Unless there's a big swing in shooting % on open shots for what's happened the last 4-5 games I'd take Iowa by 8.

I keep flip flopping back and forth. If push came to shove and I had to make a bet, I think I'd go with Baylor.

I like Iowa because of Fran. He's 10 times the coach of Drew.

Also, to tweeter, Woody will not dominate Isaiah Austin. He's soft but very skilled and good

"Dominate" perhaps too strong of a word. I think the weight and strength advantage will favor Iowa in this player matchup (when Gabe is in as well) in that they'll be able to muscle Austin out of position more, perhaps throwing off his shot, getting position for rebounds, disrupting passes.

It'll be a fun game to watch. I think you'll see Baylor get tired just like M'land. Gut feeling....Pierre cannot do it all himself, and I see a tremendous amount of pressure, mixed defenses, which leads to alot of to's. If Iowa can execute, get good looks, and hit the glass, and make free throws, put another "W" down. They've been doing do it over the course of the last few weeks. The upside is it's not the Big Ten play anymore, gettin' hammered day in and day out by the league.....this is much more fun to watch and you can tell the players enjoy it also...

Iowa has won every NIT game so far by double digits. Would love to see them close it out with a blowout.

12-13 Hawks = 79-80 Hawks

Team on a mission.

All due respect to Roddenberry....going where no Hawk team has gone before....

Fran is 10x the coach of Drew, that is not saying much. Sorry pal.

Watched every Baylor game of the NIT, and every Iowa game (obviously). I like the Hawks chances, but honestly, Baylor scares the heck out of me. They upped their game in the tourney. These are not the same Bears that lost to ISU and Northwestern.

They definitely did not play up to their abilities all season, they had the talent to be the 2nd best team in the Big12 but the attitudes got in the way. But Baylor is no Michigan State or Indiana, Iowa has the ability to beat Baylor but they will have to make shots on the perimeter. Baylor does not defend as well as Maryland or Virginia so the looks will be there.

So, you're telling me Oglesby will get hefty minutes and probably have a break-out game, ala Dev vs Oregon last year?;)

This should be a very entertaining, white-knuckle game. On the season, Baylor finished 21st in ppg, @ 76, but gave up 66.7 (176th). During the NIT, Baylor has averaged 89 but given up 72.5. Meanwhile, Iowa has gone 72.5 during the NIT (up from 70.6 during the season) and only allowed 60 (down from 62.5)

Hawk's defense is a lot more impressive than Baylor's offense but I still see a game that could potentially reach the high 70's. Still going with Baylor, 73-69 (with the Hawks winning 74-70).

By the way - Iowa now favored x 2.

oh dear gawd please no!

I still have images of him airballing his first shot against Maryland. Someone please tell me a defender got a piece of the ball as he looked wide open when he started to shoot that.

<<12-13 Hawks = 79-80 Hawks>>

Yeah, both went to a "final four", but only one went to THE Final Four.

Come on, Seth, that comparison is ludicrous (although, in terms of talent, the teams are probably more equal than one would guess given the differences in team strengths from NCAA to NIT).

This has been great to watch, great for team pride, but it's the NIT final vs. NCAA Final Four, not Rose Bowl vs. Orange Bowl.
