Overseas Trip

Anyone heard anything regarding a possible overseas trip for this coming year?

I know a couple times Mr. Davis took the team abroad and it really helped with team chemistry and gave them a chance to play together. I think he did it the summer before the great run to the elite 8 and if memory serves me correclty also another year when they made a run to the sweet sixteen.

With the young players on this team along with Uthoff and Meyers it could be a great year for such a trip. I don't think Jok would be allowed to go since he wouldn't yet be enrolled at the university.

Just curious.
 




The team will be traveling to the UK and France for, I think, 6 games sometime in August. They were originally going to go to Spain, but changed to the UK because of Gabe. Also, the NCAA recently changed the rule, so Jok will be allowed to participate.

Hes referring to a trip in the summer to Europe that is fairly common for college teams to do. They go over for a week or so and play against some Euro teams.

I want to say Iowa went to Greece a couple years ago.
 


I believe they're allowed to go overseas every 4 or so. It's a great team building trip on and off the court.

I am sure it is great for the players...

It does not have a direct correlation with on court success as Lickliter's team showed that.

You sure about that. Maybe, maybe not. Lick's team could of been worse, I know it's hard to fathom, but it's possible. If has a different effect on different players/teams. Everything is going well right now and you have to be the pessimist.

I think any chance to play against pro players and play as a team is beneficial. It beats having a team scrimmage during August.

I didn't say anything pessimistic, just saying I don't know and you don't know if there is really a direct correlation to wins the next year.
