Will all the players be back next year?

I had been a fan of the idea of redshirting Gabe, but his last few games have changed my mind.
Same here. Since he is relatively new to the game, I think he has the potential to make a big leap forward next year. I don't really care about his offense, it would be great to have a shot-blocking threat to allow Iowa to extend more pressure to the perimeter.

Ingram should have redshirted this year just as Gabe should have last year. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the only player that truly would have any reason to leave based on potential minute distribution next year and into the future would be Ingram. This is of course with assuming that Uthoff, JO, and Jok are all going to be ahead of him on the depth chart. Who knows, maybe Ingram will have improved enough and pass one or all by the fall.

Will JO go pro?

All this Oglesby hate is eerily similar to all the poo that was flung at May and Gatens their sophomore and junior years.

You all are going to stick to your guns about how awful he is when the "Oglesby Was a Great Unappreciated Hawk" talk starts his senior year, right? Just like you did with Gatens and May. Right?

At this point, I would rather redshirt Woodbury, allowing him to get stronger and more adept in his footwork and post moves, than Oleseni, but I know that ain't gonna happen.

You and I have pretty much been on the same page with this from the start and I agree with this post. We're poised for a pretty special season IMO and for us to be our best I think Gabe has to play.

I think the unknowns are why Ingram didn't redshirt. Would Ingram be better than Clemmons. Would May stay healthy all year? When things sorted themselves out he was the odd man out of the rotation. I think he benefits just as much from a redshirt next year as he would have this year. Even if he redshirts this season he probably doesn't play much next year so it's a wash IMO.

I don't think anybody will leave but if someone were to leave I would expect it to be Ingram. But at the same time, we don't how ready Jok will be when he comes in, and Ingram may get caught up physically over the summer since he didn't get to last year. He could end up being a more talented version of Eric May if he puts his mind to it. So I don't ever see him being a starter, but he could be a glue guy in his junior and senior years.

Good post...and I still think he does a lot of other positive things on the court besides making 3s.

If there were a gun to my head and I was forced to redshirt one or the other then Olaseni sits next year. Woodbury has to play IMO.

Even though his shot was not falling for much of the season, Woody is light years ahead of Gabe on the offensive end of the court.

Grape, I agree with you, but have you read this board this year?

I was probably more critical toward May as anyone, he is one player I flipped on twice. Liked his game his freshman season and didn't buy the "injury" excuses, but when all is said and done it appears they held him back. That said, he looks like a lot better player with better players surrounding him, not a knock on Eric, just he relaxed and played basketball this season and let the game come to him.

I get so tired of this garbage. Serious question- what is the most people you have attempted a three point shot in an actual game in front of? Get of JO, all of you. I don't know him, have never met him, and am not some huge JO fan. I am a huge Hawkeye fan, and this 20 year old kid is trying to be successful. Support that.

Couldn't have said it better myself...people act like he goes out there to miss shots or something...he has had a poor year plain and simple.
