Will all the players be back next year?

Players that aren't going to transfer:

Gesell - no way, starter on a big10 team
Woodbury - no way, starter on a big10 team
Marble - no way, starter on a big10 team and leading scorer
White - no way, starter on a big10 team
Basabe - no way, starter on a big10 team
Uthoff - not in a million years.
Olaseni - 99% certain he isn't going anywhere. If any 'contributors' were to leave he could be the only one that I could see as people seem to think he is going to redshirt.
McCabe - he will be a Sr. No way
Jok - incoming freshman
Meyer - coming off redshirt year. If he transferred he would go 2+ years without playing a game. No way.

Those that I could see transferring due to potential lack of playing time.
Clemmons - athletic as hell but has the mental focus of Cully Payne
Ingram - will not play significant minutes at Iowa

Lol at clemmons leaving due to.lack of playing time. He will play 20 per game next year.

How many nit games will we have at CHA if we win? I may take my talents to carver and watch a game if we win.

If UMASS and Virginia do not get upset, the Hawks will only play 1 game in CHA. The better seed gets the home game in NIT play, unless there is a scheduling conflict in their arena. I dont think anything would conflict UMASS or Virginia hosting if they keep winning.

Thanks. Looks like I better get my talents there on wed ifninwant to see them. Do you think you will be able to get tix at the door?

At the 1,2 and 3 the minutes will get very tight. Marble right off the bat takes 30+. Gessell 25+ Clemmons 20+ Jok 15-20? Not much left after that.

This has been going through my head recently. Doing a quick count, there will be 11 people vying for playing time at the 5 positions, and that doesn't include Olesani or Ingram. But of the 11 I did count, I really don't see any of them leaving. I believe they'll redshirt both Olesani and Ingram. (Nothing to base it on .. just a hunch.) Otherwise, I think Ingram is the only person that transferring would benefit. The other thing - IF (stressed) JO, RDM, or JU can develop/cleanup their long range three, they MAY redshirt Jok.

Just my $.02 .. ..

GO HAWKS!!!

Yes. It's Spring Break so the students aren't around and a lot of people are on family vacations, etc. I'm hoping we get 10,000 at the game.

I don't think anyone will transfer. Ingram should redshirt IMO. From what I've been hearing the Olaseni redshirt idea was canned a few weeks ago. He played too well down the stretch and is too important. I don't think anyone in the Big Ten comes close to matching us at the 5 with Adam and Gabe.

Not making up anything. Just a lot of players with only 200 minutes to go around a game. It has to be on some of these players minds. If none do transfer, some of these players will see a lot of pine time.

So you just admitted you are making it up. This is just your speculation...

Why would JO transfer? He shot 37% from 3 last year and 26% this year, but continued to see minutes and even started a couple games. Fran continued to let him shoot even though he didn't hit much. I wouldn't be sad if he did transfer, but why would he? If he does, he's going to a smaller school, possibly lower division.

This. Where else can he go and shoot as poorly as he did and get as many minutes as he did this year.

I had been a fan of the idea of redshirting Gabe, but his last few games have changed my mind.

This. Early in the season I thought there was no chance the kid could contribute at a high level. Something clicked about 2/3 through the season and the kid has really improved his game.

Now if we could just get Fran to stop going away from the 5 in the last 10 minutes of the game we should be set.
