The talking heads are just that, talking. They do not decide the final teams.
Iowa finished alone in 6th place in the toughest conference in the country. We finished with a .500 record in conference and 21 wins overall.
Does that guarantee us a spot? Of course not. But we do have a chance, very slim, but we are still alive until Sunday night.
The next question, assuming we don't make it in, is wil we be a #1 seed? The nit is.going to have some legit NCAA teams that are left on the sidelines including (possibly) Iowa.
