Our 3 point defense is so good that we actually shoot a higher percentage from 3 than our opponents by 1.3%. Now you know our 3 defense has to be real good for this to be true.

Statistics don't tell the story but ILHawks ******* perception of reality does somehow.
 


Key question - will Iowa go man in attempt to not even allow Illannoy to get into a rhythm from outside?

White and Marble have to drive all day and turn this into an ugly-fest. They also need to hit their free-throws.

Mel has a big game - 15 / 10 but not sure the others will do enough.

I'm thinking, over 40 minutes, without Gessell on the perimeter, Illannoy heats up at the end and Hawks notch another come-from-ahead loss, 71-65.

We've had really only 1 good win this year against a good team that does good on the road in Wisky. MN was badly wounded and ISU has been pathetic on the true road. The MSU and IU home games weren't as in doubt as fan-atics like to think. Close yes in final score, but those teams were always in control. Iowa's scrum isn't easy to fight through either.

The Iowa vs MSU game wasn't in doubt? Iowa was up by 3 points in the last minute and led most of the game.

Statistics don't tell the story I'm trying to tell.

That's what ILHawk meant to say. For someone with such an analytical mind, like he claims to be, he sure is completely wrong a lot.
 








What ever. Look up the stats by guards driving to the hoop. That has an impact on 3 point defense. You would also need to break that down by who took the three's and what the score was at the time.

The MSU game was like pulling a sled of bricks uphill the whole way. And it was a scrum.
 


This is a huge blow out. Illiny suck bad. They have a couple of lucky wins this year, other than that - dog crap season. Hawks by 19. Franicide them. Woody goes all wood.

Hahaha why don't you just provide one stat that backs up your stupid theory first

For someone who wants to analyze things you sure insult a lot.

Watch the game tonight on defensive position when 3's are shot. Hand in face...strong close out...good signs of good three D...see if Iowa does that. Seriously. Don't watch the ball, watch the defender.

Count the number of easy trips to the lane when iowa shoots out hard on D and get blown by.

Some of that is due to horrible help D. There is a reason why we are struggling to dance while playing the weakest B1G schudule. This isn't a stat to be necessarily proud of unless coupled with few easy baskets. Bet our defensive stats allowed under the basket is quite high. All goes hand in hand which includes bad interior D and improper 3 defense.

Like giving shutting down the pass and getting run over for 300 yards in football. The Hawks are not a good perimeter D team.

Sorry you can't watch and analyze. Don't know of any stats on drives to the hoop. It's in front of you if you watch.

Haha wrong again, our conference SOS is 6th in the B10.

We (meaning Iowa, not Illinois, wouldn't want you to be confused) are good on defense by any statistical measure, we're an absolutely terrible shooting team, yet we have a chance to finish .500 in the conference and have also lost 6 games by four points or less. We're very solid defensively, it's the other end of the court we struggle on.

You're just a troll and getting frustrated because you keep getting proven wrong by actual data.

your description of our team defense and analogy used to make your point don't go with each other. according to you, our defense is terrible in every aspect(perimeter defense and under the basket defense). so your analogy should say its like when we allow a team to throw for 400 yards passing but allow 300 yards rushing too
