Rest of schedule effect on NIT seeding

Serious here.

If we win last two and win one in BTT, what might we expect for NIT seed? Or what if we win 2 in BTT? Possible that we get a 2 or 3 seed in NIT?

You'd have to think if we win the 2 last games and win 2 in the BTT, we'd be in (the NCAA Tourney) based on the link's projections..

Normally, i would totally agree. But when I see how teams with similar records in worse conferences are 30 RPI spots ahead of us, I don't feel confident.

Unless I'm overlooking, we're the only B1G team? Everyone else gets in the NCAA (minus bottom dwellers)?

Thanks for the link. So if we win 1 in the BTT, we can pretty much assume home court all the way through to bracket final.

Semi Finals, the NIT Final Four is played at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

But that also means Iowa was one of the last 4 left out of the tournament, there will be some disappointment both with the team and the fan base.

I think so, a .500 record is not a criteria anymore but I think it still has an impact. Purdue could still get themselves into the NIT but it would take a couple of huge upsets over Minnesota and Michigan (both at home) in order to do it.

I'm still holding out hope for an NCAA berth, but failing that I see a high seed in the NIT. Though they may deny it, the NIT is kind of like the bowl system in that they want teams who will draw decently and they will massage the seeds a little bit to accomplish that. The excellent crowd we had last year for the game against Dayton will not be lost on the selection committee and I think absolute worst case we are a 2 seed in the NIT.
