Bubble Watch 2013 has been suspended indefinitely

Assuming Iowa beat Neb yesterday, today was going to be the continuation and further in-depth version of the 2013 Bubble Watch.

However, at this point in time, there is no need.

If somehow Iowa upsets Indiana in Bloomington, I will resurrect this series.
It doesn't make much sense to put out this series at this point.

Even if we won, there were quite a few games that did not go our way: UNC, Kentucky, St. Mary's, Villanova, etc.

Ah, I don't know.

No reason to keep poking a hot stick into one's eye.

just goofing. though, in light of recent events i realize that's probably not a smart thing to do. in a way, it's good that the suspense is over. mostly bummer though, but i figured we were NIT bound all year.

For sure.
With the win, Iowa was still off the bubble on the wrong side.

Was going to do some projections, scenarios, et al... but right now the only way Iowa sniffs the Bubble is winning their last 4 conf games and then at least 1 in BTT, 2 to be on the Bubble.

So with that in mind, we'd need to see a win over Indiana to even look at this again, as of right now Iowa is more like a 3 or 4 seed in the NIT.

So if we get a 4 seed, that'll mean the program is better this year because we were only a 7 seed last year?

Rick Brown let me know that he has been told there will be no conflict in scheduling w/ the NCAA Women's games being hosted at Carver either. So if Iowa ended up the higher seed in the first few rounds of the NIT, they would be able to play them at home.

We need a General College Basketball section, just for the NCAA tournament alone...I was looking forward to that.

4 games in 4 days baby! We make our own bubbles at Iowa.

In all seriousness, if (huge and illogical if) Iowa beats Indiana on the road. I think if they win out in conf. (10-8) - they'd probably just need 2 wins in the BTT to get in. But that's an extremely difficult road, and not one that looks feasible. Esp considering Iowa fails at closing games on the road. Anything can happen, but the odds are so small - larger than last year at this time - but still very very small.

There is still a chance. Nebraska actually slips into the top 100 RPI, so technically it is not a bad loss at the moment. 10-8 win 2 and i think we still get in.

Not suspended because that insinuates it could come back. Our bubble is not coming back regrettably. The bubble has burst, like a big hubba bubba bubble. Gone baby gone
