Post season all conference teams

I don't see any Hawkeyes on the 1st or 2nd team.

Maybe DM or AW on the 3rd team?

Who ya got?

Yeah....now that you've tossed out those other names, I was reaching a bit with Woody.

I'll stand by my choice of Gesell on the frosh team.

And I agree....if DM closes with some flash/dash, he may sneak onto the 3rd team.

Having a third team seems dumb. Is there really a need for a 3rd team.

IIRC, these teams are just 5 players and they dont have to contain 2 guards, 2 forwards and a center. Just the 5 best for each team.

No way Gesell beats out Dekker, GR III, Stauskas, Harris or Yogi for freshman team if that is the case.

I don't think any Hawkeye makes the first two teams and I'm struggling to come up with someone who could make HM. Gesell on the All-Frosh team? I think that's a good call, but Yogi will probably beat him out. This has been a team year. No one player has consistently stood out. For the most part, they've all had their ups and downs.

Do they have a Sixth Man award? If they do, I'd nominate May. Of all the Hawks, I think he has been the most consistent over the course of the year. (Note - I said consistent .. .. not best.)

Just my $.02 .. ..

GO HAWKS!!!

GR3 has been a ghost in big games. Gesell has a chance to beat him out, but it is slim. I am not so sure Dekker isn't the best of the freshman...it is Harris if not Dekker.

YOu really think Marble can't make even second team? Name 10 players better than Marble.

When RDM is on, he is a game changer and can be one of the 10 best players in the B1G. The problem is that he basically was non-existent for 6 of the 13 conference games played to date and 4 of the 6 were loses. (This doesn't count the first Indiana game when he was 1-14 from the field but still managed to get 14 points.)

As of right now, that hurts his chances. If he can have a great 5 games and lead the Hawks into the B1G Tourney, then yes .. he deserves to be on the 2nd team.

But .. to answer your question, here are 10 players who, in my opinion, have had better years than RDM right now: Olidipo, Zeller, Burke, Robinson III, Hardaway Jr., Harris, Richardson, Jackson, Talley, Hollins (either of them) .. .. Ooops .. that's 11. (And note - I am NOT saying they are better players. They just have had better B1G seasons.)

My point is .. RDM IS a good player and I'm a fan. But he has not had a great B1G year .. not when you're MIA in half the games.

Just my $.02 .. ..

GO HAWKS!!!

I'd say big red gets the nod before marble. Coaches like a player like white, hard worker, gets his shots within the flow of the game. He was more consistent.

If marble can finish out strong he could make 2nd team. White is probably honorable mention as he faded like marble just not as badly yet marble being a guard with the ball inhis hands more makes it more likely he could jump up. Gesell very well could make the frosh team though it will be a tight race for that team.

Numbers are very comparable. Dekker is good, but I don't understand everyone's enormous chub for him. Dekker has the luxury of leaning on quite a few seniors. He also doesn't have to worry about running the offense on top of scoring. Mikey does not have either of those luxuries, thus making his path to similar stats that much harder.
