If Iowa does not break out of this funk they are in soon this could get ugly. I am kind of dreading the game on Sunday, I have people coming over and plan on having a good time. If they come out flat at Minnesota it could spoil my mood.

Perhaps I will start drinking early, maybe then I won't care as much.

I am going to be right. Yesterday, while a very tough loss, gave me a lot of confidence in the team for the rest of the year. The bench played great and the Hawks 2nd unit got them back in the game after the 14-3 start.

LOL. No, Joe changes his mind every day. I don't do that. I recall saying that the loss of Frazier would certainly make me pick Iowa to sweep PSU, which I had them splitting with, so I felt 10-8 was very doable.

As of right now, Iowa is -1 on where I had them through 10 games.
 


Jon- You had yesterday as Iowa's 2nd toughest game left on the schedule.

Do you feel any different today about their chances in some of the games you had lower confidence percentages on?
 


We are playing worse as the season goes on. I think the team and coaches are already looking at next season. I expect an NIT berth and a disinterested Hawkeye team to lose in the first round.

I had the same reaction. It will be after the Wisconsin game, or maybe later, that people start to realize this was a road game against a ranked team and we were poised to win, if only we could shoot at least 60% on free throws. This game was better for our rankings than the Penn St win.

Tell that to the CBS guy that was on Miller and Brinson tonight. He still thinks Iowa is out unless they win at Indy or at least win two in the BoneG tourney. Going 10-8 in conference and beating Illinois isn't enough to get in, at least per his opinion.
