So what will happen with Marble?

It's not faulty logic. You want to give him a pass because he's injured. If he's going to play big minutes, and if he's going to shoot as much as he does (leads the team in shot attempts in BoneG play) he has to be held accountable for what he does on the court.

Again, there's a difference between holding him accountable, and making a blanket statement based on poor play while injured.

Criticize him for bad turnovers, poor shot selection, etc. That's all fair. Criticize Fran for playing him in this condition. That's fair, too. But the level of play you achieve when injured is not reflective of what you're capable of when healthy.

Well, to be fair, I didn't think he was going to be a go to player before the season started. So my blanket statement is not based on his play while injured, but rather an overall assessment of his game as it stands.

I hate to break the news, but, Marble is NOT injured. Everybody at this point in the season has bumps and bruises, but the turf toe / ankle stuff is getting old. Not to mention, why on God's green earth would Fran lie about something like this? To suggest otherwise is pure stupidity. Yes, White will probably be the focus of Mr Ryan and the rodents from Wisconsin, however, we have several guys who can and will step up, including White. White has shown signs of being a leader on this team and my money says he steps up big time at the Kohl Center tomorrow night and leads our Hawkeyes. We are on the brink of a run. Just watch.

Turf toe can take several weeks to recover from. That's if you're resting it, which Marble obviously isn't doing. That's the kind of injury that will only get worse if you don't rest it. Big shock, Marble's play has been steadily getting worse since he sat out the MSU game. You think that's just a coincidence?

And that's fair. But the numbers he's put up while hurt don't indicate anything or support your opinion, which is why I don't get why you're using them. I wouldn't argue too strongly with you if you'd just said this from the start.

Damn bro...we just wasted a Tuesday.

I had turf toe last summer. I rested it for a week and tried to play basketball. Then I re-aggravated it and had to sit another 2 weeks. I also hurt my left leg because I was favoring my right foot so much.

I'm curious, why were you favoring your right foot when that picture is clearly of a left foot?

He's not 100% and he's playing hurt. I have no doubt about it. I think they are just not saying that now for competitive disadvantage reasons, but the cat is out of the bag and he doesn't pass the eye test.
If this is true, then he just needs to sit and heal up. He isn't helping the team or himself. We could use him down the stretch. We play as well without him as we do with him now.

They should have sat him after the Michigan game, when he got hurt, for a few weeks.

That picture of the turf toe on here.....I assumed it was always the big toe,but that photo seems to show the toe next to the big toe.....I could see that not being nearly as bad as the Big Toe...wonder if Devyns is the Big Toe?

I thought Sgt. Hulka was the Big Toe....

I got them backwards. Mah bad, it was a long time ago. I hurt my left foot, then strained my right hip a few days later...I was having a jumping contest with a volleyball player, landed on my right leg, and it felt liek someone stabbed me with a flaming pen. #CSB

What devyn needs to do is learn a new normal for the rest of the year. He needs to adjust his shot because he doesn't get the same lift. He needs to be more spot up and less dribble. It is what players do when they lose things. As mj got older he knew he wouldn't be able to beat guys off the dribble as much so he developed and outside shot. Marble needs to adapt to his new normal. The only other theory is to sit until it is healed.

He's better off sitting. No matter what he does, playing will make the injury worse. That's not the same thing as losing a step like MJ did.
