[h=2][/h] It’s only January, but I figured it’s time to start taking a look at the NCAA Tournament Bubble Teams. It’s early. Very early. Maybe too early to even start thinking about this. But, that said, I’m thinking about it and so are a lot of other basketball fans in the nation. Seeing that we still have at least 13 games left in the regular season, there are far too many Bubble Teams at this point than there will be in a month’s time, so keep that in mind...................

Is this like the Panda watch from the movie Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy?

Please, please tell me so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that enough exclamation points to express my excitement?

Has there been "quality" bubble teams since they expanded the tournament. Seems like ever since that happened we hear about how weak the bubble is.

Are the bubble teams in any sort of order? I honestly dont even see how ISU can be a bubble team, let alone in the top half of the bubble.

Others that do not belong in the top half of the bubble list (assuming the order means something) IMO these teams are outside looking in.
BYU
Temple
Kentucky

Yes, they are in a ranked order. I looked at what the teams have done to this point, what they have in front of them, and then how I think they'd fare the rest of the way... and then ranked them.

For comparison -
RPIs:

BYU - 40
Temple - 54
Iowa State - 50

Iowa - 68

Versus RPI Top 100

Iowa- 4-4
Temple - 3-3
BYU - 2-5
Iowa State - 2-4

Yes and that's all taken into consideration in the RPI rankings in a round-about way.
But as I mentioned, this is what they've done as well as what I expect them to do. ISU has a much easier path to more wins than Iowa, same goes for Temple.

Does ISUs RPI reflect their loss to TT?
So your bubble is more of an actual projection, not if the season ended today bracket. Temple does have a very good win over the Cuse. But they also have losses to Canisius and St. Bonnies.

Also, I do not believe the RPI is an accurate reflection on the teams 25-69 until the last month of the season.

There are some tough games for most bubble teams today.
Temple vs. Butler
G'Town vs. L'ville
Maryland vs. Duke
ISU vs. KState
San Diego St. vs. New Mexico
Washington vs. Oregon
UNC vs. NC State

Need to add Villanova to that list of teams on the bubble now that they have back to back wins over top 5 teams.
