I think we can all agree even if we do lose our first four games, we can still make it to the Rose Bowl, right?

I think we will win between 7-9 games. Just depends on how many things go our way. I belive you are going to see some big changes. I think people will be surprised at what happens in the next Month or so. A heck of a lot depends on how much our DL improves and how much the new WR coach can get done early in the season

I hope so, I do think the DL will improve. I think Darian Cooper and LTP have gotten their legs under them and they will start to play way more consistent.

As for the coaching changes, I hope they do make some changes. But as for coaching changes, I had heard a rumor last season that Reese Morgan was going to retire. Have you heard anything about that?

The thing that concerns me with the DL is it has to improve a lot. line of scrimage is everything with KF Im pretty sure the OL will be good. If the DL can do their job. I think you will see the three Sr. LB look much better. A little concerned about depth in the secondary. Would be nice if a stud Fr came in and made difference next year in the secondary. The coachs will all be on the same page next year. They wernt this year and some wont be coming back

DE is my concern, who we have and who is coming in doesn't impress me as much as DT.

I think the OL will be good if the new center is good, which I really hope that Eric Simmons from Iowa Western is a good as advertised.

I think the three SR's at LB will be good as well. I hope they stay healthy but also still sub to get some experience behind them.

Secondary scares me because of how poor it played when many thought it would be one of the strongest in the B1G last year, didn't look that way to me. I think with the young talent coming in and Jordan Lomax coming back and guys like Torrey Campbell looking for a starting spot and Buford and Draper getting good experience it helped.

I think a new RB coach will do wonders for the player retention, I have heard that Erb wasn't well liked among his group.

For several years we have had some good corners. Spevy, Prater, Hyde. I dont see one so far. Also free saftey speakes for itself. But if they are all solid we can get by with out the stud corner. We did it for years. But we cant get by if we dont control the LOS and as you said get a pass rush with 4 guys we have a problem. The coaches know this and I think the DL will be much better. Enough ??? time will tell

I miss the days when Iowa dominated on d-line. Two of my favorite players of all time were Mitch King and Matt Kroul. I miss guys like that who just played hard nosed football, much like James Ferentz did the last few years at center.

I believe there will be no more 3 yard passes on 3rd & 5. I believe with our 2 redshirt 4* DL faith is a DE which all recruit haters agree stars are everything!!!
Ill say 7 wins. With 8th coming bowl win.
Book it Dan-o

LMFAO!

Seriously, King an Kroul anchored the Dlines in 2005, 2006, and 2007. You know the last time Iowa was on a three year slide? James Ferentz anchored the middle of the offensive line in the current downturn. You like little linemen on bad Iowa teams. They are good technicians, get off the ball well, but get overwhelmed by bigger better players.

Give me Bruce Nelson, Christian Ballard, Colin Cole, Babs, Roth, Eric Steinbach, Adrian Clayborn, and Mike Daniels.

I'm curious why ISU is going to be so bad next year. The defense is going to take a hit, but with Wally and Rhoads running the show, I can't say I'm too concerned about that side of the ball. Offensively, who does ISU lose that will make that much of a difference? Losing Lenz and Horne sucks, but who else really sets the offense back? Jantz? Barnett? The o-line couldn't really get much worse, to be honest. We have 2 young, promising QB's on the roster and that was really the biggest issue on that side of the ball this last season. We also have an entire freshmen class coming off redshirt. I'm not saying ISU will be great next season, but to say ISU will be terrible is probably a bit misguided.

BECAUSE MISSOURI STATE SCHOOL WAS DESTROYED BY METEOR TOMORROW AND BARRY GARTA DIDNT HAVE TIME TO REPLACE ONSKEDUL

How is liking James' hard nose style of play his fault that he was on a bad Iowa team? Plus this season for the most part the offensive line was like musical chairs (except his position). At one point he was playing with two RDFR, that isn't his fault if they don't have handle on the offense, hell most players didn't.

As for King and Kroul, they were hard nosed guys. The guys you listed were players that had size to their advantage. I wish Iowa could get guys that big again, I really do but they are struggling to recruit and successfully develop them at this time. Carl Davis is a prime example, huge dude but is missing that nasty side, he almost looks like a big teddy bear out there sometimes.

There is nothing wrong with liking King, Kroul and James for being hard nosed players. Especially since those are the types of guys it seems Ferentz would rather play anyway.

Besides Mike Daniels, give me a break, he was at best a 3rd down guy and that was it. When he had to play full time he was exhausted at the end of the 1st and 3rd quarters. He had a stamina problem, same with Clayborn. I wish Ballard had stayed at DE, I think he was better there in college but it seems to be working for him in the NFL.

I agree, ISU won't be terrible. They may not win as many games as this past season but that is going to come down to how tough their conference is unless they take a huge step back.

I hear ya, but maybe it's just that I can not imagine an Iowa team finishing with less than 5 wins two years in a row. If they do go 2-10, I'll probably ignore them till ferentz is gone.

FreedComanche

Can't imagine it?

Start playing the John Lennon, and start imagining harder.

Is Kirk Ferentz still the coach? Is Davis still our OC? If the answer to those questions is yes then 4 wins is our ceiling unfortunately. This past season showed me that those two have no desire for our offense to score points.
