Dakich, Crean: Support this team, Iowa fans

Damn right this is a good team! When your best player shoots 1-14, team only shoots 33%, out rebounded by 9, and they only lose by 4 to one of the best teams in the nation that is saying something. Wait until March when Iowa plays them again, it will be another battle.

Even with the loss, I would think that most Iowa fans would be pleased with the performance. Losing isn't acceptable, but think about how badly Iowa would have lost this game 3 or 4 years ago. The crowd was back in a big way, and Iowa played Indiana to the wire even though the Hawks couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

If Fran gets them playing their best by February and March like in his first 2 years, this Iowa team is going to be extremely dangerous.

HF would be real mad about this statement. Moral victories don't exist.

WHO ISN'T SUPPORTING THIS TEAM????

Give me a break!

^^ exactly. I am back to being excited about hawk basketball. I couldnt even watch lickball after his first year.

Fran M. is doing a great job and shows his passion and will to win. The players are very good, a huge upgrade. Gesell is smart and fun to watch.

Fran makes good adjustments. I watched the great Miller, Olson, Davis and the Alford years and we are headed back to being a tough win.

Luv the hawks. I hope Fran has the long tenure like Lute and Mr. Davis.

I have been excited for Iowa basketball after I heard Fran's first press conference.

Fran has a great staff and they change as the game goes and Iowa is about one more year away from being able to impose their will on teams in full.

What I mean by that is this, Indiana wants to run off of everything, but Iowa was able to slow them down by taking good shots, the only thing Iowa didn't do to win was make a few shots.

Iowa had the ideal gameplan to slow Indiana down by being physical and made a great adjustment on the press to put someone in the middle of the court after Indiana was breaking the press and getting easy baskets, or to the line. The press was there to limit the pace and get a turnover if it presented itself.

Uthoff and Jok will make a difference, if each can live up to their reputation as being shot makers, that is the one element Iowa missed.

For the future, the one thing Iowa misses is that one or two guys that are on a higher athletic level than anyone currently on the team and are 6'4" - 6'7", that can neutralize, or slow down a player like Oladipo. If Jok can return to his pre-injury form, he is the beginning and may very well be that guy anyway.

Iowa is back unless you feel they have to get to the NCAA tournament in order to say that and they still have every opportunity to get there this year, yesterday was just another small step, just keep the loss in perspective as they start three freshman. Iowa is on the cusp of being a contender in the B1G.

JOk and Uthoff will complete this team......

Jok's ease and smoothness, getting open for his shot and his accuracy will help considerably, and Uthoff is a threat to score whenever hs has the ball......

I actually thought we did well on Zeller then I saw the box score and was surprised that he quietly had a great game.....

Ws started out very well holding high scoring Indiana to 11 points with nine plus minutes left in the first half......

:)

Funny thing is, Iowa did do a good job on him, which is why he is so impressive as a player, he finds ways to get it done.
