Woodbury didn't play that great. Got in foul trouble and shot poorly. I think if he stayed in the game 10 more minutes, we probably would have won. He was a factor on the boards.

No, for the player he is right now, he really did play well. Offensively, he's a pup, so you can't expect much. But his defense - not just against Zeller, but in stopping dribble penetration - was tremendous. The entire complexion of the IU offense changed when he was in. His rebounding was better than I expected it to be.

No one said he was great. But he did okay for a freshman against one of the top centers in the country.

I agree with Ghost. For Freshman he showed some things. But, he did not have a great game, and, in fact, I thought he was rather soft offensively. When you are 7 foot 1, you need to dunk the ball....not throw up weak azz crap that is going to get blocked.

What a tremendous performance by the Hawkeyes tonight. No doubt they had a couple of bad turnovers, a couple of bad shots and a couple of let downs on Defense.
Last time I looked Indiana is a top 5 (meaning Final Four team) and Cody Zeller is the NBA # 1 Draft choice that Iowa kept in check.
IU's Victor and a couple of plays by Yogi was the winning for Indiana.

Two things, Marlbe couldn't take advantage of Olidips gambles, because as you said he uses his quickness to get back in position, thats what makes him so tough.
Second, Its not as much Iowa needing to learn how to win when Marbles not hitting, its Marble needing to learn how to win when hes not hitting. Meaning get others involved and do other things don't just keep shooting. He did force the action towards the hoop late in the game and that I like.
I thought Fran made a mistake by taking Clemons out in favor of Ogelsby/Marlbe. Iowa is at its best with Mike and Anthony on the floor together, choose one of the other two IMO. I don't think Marble needs to be the man nearly as much as he thinks he does for Iowa to win.

I was very pleased with Iowa's performance today. They didn't shoot well from behind the arc, and they missed a lot of lay ups. Despite that they still kept it close the entire game, and unlike previous Iowa teams from recent years they didn't get down 8 and then all of a sudden get down 20. They fought back right away. I'm definitely excited about this season and the future of Iowa basketball.
On a side note who is Indiana's point guard #1? The sound wasn't on where we were at since the ISU bowl game was on. That guy should not be starting for a team as good as Indiana. Absolutely nothing about that guy impressed me. He's not even playing the same game as Aaron Craft. I feel like that guy was just trying to look like Matt Damon from Rounders and hoping it would translate into basketball talent.

Jordan Hulls. He had a very off night tonight, but he came in hitting something like 54% of his 3's this year. Yogi is the guy who actually runs the offense.

Wasn't just him. Just off the top of my head, I remember several missed layups by a handful of different guys.
Aaron Craft shoots 38% from the floor, Jordan Hulls shoots 56% so you're basically right.

Congratulations on cherry picking the one stat that supports Hulls. Craft is a superior ball handler, superior defender, and superior team leader. Craft breaks down the defense far better than Hulls as well judging by his performance today. I'll take Craft all day.
