No doubt about it, Woodbury showed me something. So did Gesell. Off night for Sapp, although he attacked the basket a couple of times in the second half...
Woodbury didn't play that great. Got in foul trouble and shot poorly. I think if he stayed in the game 10 more minutes, we probably would have won. He was a factor on the boards.

No one said he was great. But he did okay for a freshman against one of the top centers in the country.
Not really OK.
I agree with Ghost. For Freshman he showed some things. But, he did not have a great game, and, in fact, I thought he was rather soft offensively. When you are 7 foot 1, you need to dunk the ball....not throw up weak azz crap that is going to get blocked.
I have no problems with Marble's shot selection today. He took a lot of shots that he normally makes, just couldn't get them to fall today. Iowa didn't play incredibly well today, but we were still in it til the very end. We aren't quite "there" yet, but I have a feeling by the end of the year we will be.
If the shots fell like they normally do for Marble, we would have handled IU with no problems. The dude was just not on at all. Some of his shots even went in and shot back out. He will come back from this. Still, I would rather see Marble take a shot at the end of the game than Mccabe. That dude was tossing bricks all over at the end.
I disagree because he missed so many wide open shots. He didn't play bad, just missed good shots.
There were some dribble drives that were a bit ill-advised, but he didn't take advantage of Oladipo's aggression. Oladipo gambles and relies on his athleticism to make up for it, Marble didn't take advantage of that.
The other thing is, IU made it a point to throw everything at Marble, including having a bigger Watford guard him at times.
Iowa has to learn how to win without Marble hitting, they almost did today, but good learning experience.
Nobody said this. STFU!I just wonder where all the Woodbury haters are tonight? I thought he was going to be pushed around all season and have no impact in the game?
He played a fantastic game and you were all WRONG!!!! The future of Iowa basketball is very strong with him as our center piece.
What a tremendous performance by the Hawkeyes tonight. No doubt they had a couple of bad turnovers, a couple of bad shots and a couple of let downs on Defense.
Last time I looked Indiana is a top 5 (meaning Final Four team) and Cody Zeller is the NBA # 1 Draft choice that Iowa kept in check.
IU's Victor and a couple of plays by Yogi was the winning for Indiana.
IOWA is BACK
In the meantime the no-nothing, DICK HEAD posters that are some combination of self hating or trolling ****** bags... you have no clue and you remain nameless.
May the rest of us continue to ignore these people.... never, ever, qoute them ... and they will go away.
The idea to criticize a couple of individual plays by a couple of individual college kids is ludicrous. Please.... everyone ignore DICK HEADS and NO-NOTHINGS that post on this board with no insight, no wit and nothing.
I was very pleased with Iowa's performance today. They didn't shoot well from behind the arc, and they missed a lot of lay ups. Despite that they still kept it close the entire game, and unlike previous Iowa teams from recent years they didn't get down 8 and then all of a sudden get down 20. They fought back right away. I'm definitely excited about this season and the future of Iowa basketball.
On a side note who is Indiana's point guard #1? The sound wasn't on where we were at since the ISU bowl game was on. That guy should not be starting for a team as good as Indiana. Absolutely nothing about that guy impressed me. He's not even playing the same game as Aaron Craft. I feel like that guy was just trying to look like Matt Damon from Rounders and hoping it would translate into basketball talent.
White blew some chances at the rim at times in this game, but did not give him enough chances to create in 2nd half. To bad we leaned on McCabe for the key 3 shots at the end (instead of White). Marble did not have it today.

Aaron Craft shoots 38% from the floor, Jordan Hulls shoots 56% so you're basically right.
