No more waiting for Anthony Hubbard - insidenova.com

Twelve points a game, I wonder how that would translate out in the BIG...... about six points a game, maybe? None the less best wishes to him.

Interesting to think what might have happened had he stayed at Iowa. Who would we not have? Clemmons? Ingram? Uthoff? I suspect that one of the two guards would not have been recruited and Fran would be looking to bring another in next year along with Jok.

Since we are still short a scholly this year, we could conceivably have everyone plus Hubbard.

You have to wonder that if Hubbard were at Iowa, would Marble have evolved as much as he has? I am glad with how it played out. Last year was a great ride...this year starting out well...I think for long term of program, Hubbard not being at Iowa means more minutes for younger players and Marble..and that is better for Iowa down the road.

Why is that Jumper? Didn't he leave on his own accord? Why is the school punished?

Perhaps I worded that poorly. Iowa is only using 12 of their 13 available scholarships this year. When May graduates, Uthoff will get a scholarship and Jok has been signed, so all scholarships will be used next year. If Hubbard were on the team, the team would have 13 of 13 used this year, and when May and Hubbard graduated, Uthoff and Jok would get their scholarships. So, if Hubbard were on the team, I think it's conceivable that everyone else that's on the team now would also be on the team.

I remember hearing nothing but he left on his own to play closer go home. Then I read this, I don't know if he broke "zero tolerance" or not but kind of interesting:

So, was Anthony Hubbard kicked off the Iowa men’s basketball team or not? | TheGazette

At the Cedar Rapids-based Metro Sports Report, Jim Ecker wrote Tuesday night that Hubbard was dismissed from the Iowa team because he violated a “zero tolerance policy” established for him. Hubbard spent nearly four years in prison for his participation in a 2003 armed robbery before playing one season at a Texas junior college and another at Frederick.

None of the four sources apparently gave Ecker any specific information about whatever it was Hubbard did to violate the “zero tolerance” agreement, though one said the player didn’t break any laws and another said Hubbard wasn’t involved with drugs or illegal substances.
