Its because they looked slightly better than absolute garbage in the last 5 games of last year. The "High powered offense" everyone keeps talking about is based on the points they scored on some of the worst defensive teams in football. If anyone actually watched the game they played vs UNI last weekend they could see that for more than half the game they looked BAD against a bad FBS team.

I have been watching Iowa Football for over 35 years. I have never seen a group fly to the ball like this defense does. I am not saying that there have not been more talented players on selected teams over the years, but as a team, none have looked better. Stanley looks much better than expected and Iowa played with one hand behind their back last week. Not domination this week like last year, but still a convincing win.

Agree. Seems all the "experts" are in love with Park and isu receivers. Iowa's d-line will dominate.
I got a feeling that Hawks will go nickel instead of trying to cover receivers with linebackers. James Daniels is back at C.
I usually am very nervous for this game. But this year, I'm quietly confident. Go Hawks, ****isu
