Also, I think Iowa will play back to the 4 seed. They will beat OSU on Friday. Beat Michigan on Sat. And then get revenge on Becky on Sunday.

Last 4 games reg season. 3-1
BTT 5 seed. Win on thurs. Win on fri. Lose on sat. 2-1
NCAA. Win first game. Lose second game. 1-1
Overall 25-11

I don't know, it is just so hard to say with these Hawks...
I will make TWO predictions, based on what I see out of them tonight vs. IU - last game of Feb.

1) We play gutless and lose to a mediocre to bad IU team (regardless of the margin)
*Finish the season with two more conf wins, at 10-8. 5th place and 5th seed
*Drop 1st round of BTT due to lack of interest - slither into Dance at 9 seed
*Win 1st round game then lose against 1 seed

2) We find a way to get this done at IU, and I really don't care how
*Finish season at 11-7 and come darn close to that 12 win at MSU
*4 seed in BTT - advance to final (not predicting win or not)
*Win two games in Dance, finish the season as pretty happy campers!

There you have it....big swing game tonight IMO.

Since Iowa will be #5 seed, they eek out W over fOSU on Friday but get Gopherized by Michigan on Saturday. Had Nebraska not peed themselves at Illannoy, Iowa would have been the #6 seed and made it to the BTT finals.

So they finish 5-5 in last 10, 23-11 overall. They will be a firm #6 in the dance. If that's the case, and today's bracket holds, Iowa could really make some noise in the East.

If this is where they land and these are the matchups, Hawks make the sweet-16. Even if they drop to a #7 but stay in the East, they still make the sweet-16. If they drop to a #7 in any other region, they're probably 1-n-done and certainly bounced by Creighton, Duke or Kansas.

If Iowa does get 6th Seed and this was the scenario the only region I see Iowa advancing to the Sweet 16 is in the West against Virginia.

BTT Lose in Semis, NCAA I think will go to the Sweet 16 They are tough team to prepare for. The trouble with conference play is everyone knows each other so well and the conference is full of really good coaches

Predictions - We finish tied with Ohio State at 11-7 but get the 4 seed on the tiebreaker. We win the BTT. We make it to the Sweet 16.

Didn't you mean March AND April?

Iowa has some good players that are becoming better and better. The coaching staff is great. It will take a pretty good team to beat Iowa if they are playing their game. Iowa is hard to prepare for, and it will probably take a team with some elite athletes to beat them. That's what happened in the NIT last year.

The play-in games will forever be ignored unless Iowa is playing in one. To me the Round of 32 is and always be the 2nd round. Screw you NCAA.

This is where I'm at. Iowa will be a 7 seed in the dance, win a game, and get bounced by someone like Duke or KU in the second round, in Mr. Davis-like fashion. This will mean that we can officially say "We're Back".

Agree with djwoody. The round of 32 is still the "second round". The NCAA just calls the play-in games the "first round" in an attempt to add significance, and get people to watch and attend those games, which is good for the coffers.

Ok...
We win at Indiana, win at home against Purdue, and lose at MSU.
We still get a first round bye at the B1G tournament, which we make it to the finals and lose to MSU.
We get a #4 seed in the tournament...We lose to Florida in the sweet sixteen

OR
We lose at Indiana, win at home against Purdue and lose at MSU
We play on the first day of B1G tournament and advance to semi's where we lose to MSU
We garner an 8 seed and lose in 2nd round to Witchita State

I think Iowa is a Sweet 16 team. Anything more than that will depend on Iowa getting very favorable matchups and hot shooting.
