Your Father's Northwestern

Wow, they look terrible out there. However, the good news is, Iowa has played other bad teams this year, and this time they are taking what they want.

Go Hawks! Do what you're supposed to do.

For as much trouble as Northwestern has given Iowa in recent history, it's nice to see the Hawkeyes put a beatdown on Pat Fitzgerald and his ballclub. Throttle needs to stay pressed down in the second half.

Remember a few years ago when Pat F's name tended to come up when top coaching positions opened up? Now... not so much.

NU needs a decent coach if they want to be competitive again. Barnett & Walker showed you can have success there.

Fitz did too; 2 years ago he was 10-3 with NW having 4th quarter leads in all 3 losses. They have had some awful personnel luck this year as well...didn't they lose their #1 WR to an ACL injury right before the season, which was right after Venric Mark transferred?

Northwestern has had a mobile QB that gave us fits on D for years- not this year. Plus they have had several speedy O players who gave us trouble. They don't seem to have that anymore.

NW will/is going through a cycle like all programs do.

Maybe KF is tired of hearing about how much The Fitz hates Iowa. I am. Heard a podcast with former NW players talking about Fitz's hatred for Iowa and the "reasons" for his hatred. Strained and faked. A few more of these and he might just have a real reason.

Let the beat-NW-like-a-drum cycle begin!

Northwestern was still obviously beat up. The QB could not run and was limping badly. Vitale was too. Hats off to them for toughing it out. Not sure it would have mattered as Iowa was on a mission today.

Siemian has never been a running threat. He could have had 3 months to heal up before this game and it wouldn't mattered one bit with the way we dominated the LOS. And Vitale is one of the most overrated players in the conference.

I'll never hate on NU for the simple fact they are always at a recruiting disadvantage due to their academic standards. And, they play in a very pro-town (as opposed to a college town).

IMO, their FB program >>Vandy, Duke, etc.
