12. Kirk Ferentz, Iowa. He’s an institution at Iowa – an institution under siege. Ferentz’s record the last four seasons is 26-25, which is performing far below his $4 million a year pay grade. The program has gone flat, with serious doubts about its revival. But he has a schedule built for success, so anything fewer than nine wins may feel like coming up short. Then what?

Kirk should donate $500k for every loss after 4 losses. 8-4 with this schedule should be the worst case scenario.

I kinda like this, and I agree. like last year, anything short of 8 wins will feel like a dissappointment. Anything short of 7 is unacceptable....this year (and last year)

Touche! Or we can sit around 7-6 with another blowout to an SEC foe. That team last year was so poorly prepared and Parker's D was the worst that that whole coaching staff should be looking over their shoulders.

Can't disagree as most media have been saying much the same. This staff has been given the red carpet treatment by the schedule makers again this year. We're playing 1 FCS level opponent, one of the worst teams in the Big 12, a Conference USA team that most predict won't win 6 games, and you're not playing OSU, PSU, MI, or MSU within your own conference!

I would agree that anything less than 9 wins will feel like coming up short........ but I certainly would take it considering we have had 5 or more losses in 8 of the last 10 seasons. Clock is ticking on this staff and it doesn't get any easier than this year's schedule.

The schedule should buy some time for Kirk to start making plans for his post Iowa future. A coach of his stature can't muddle in middle of the pack. That's where Iowa football has been and sadly it's not getting any better. Iowa football has gotten so far behind the top 20 in terms of talent that it forces a older style that just isn't going to win games. 9 wins this season or not. It's time for him to move on.

I was thinking the same thing. Intriguing SITUATIONS...maybe. But intriguing coaches? please...

Intriguing is not a word that I use to describe the Kirker, if anything it would be predictable, boring, or even vanilla.....Intriguing suggests to me something mysterious, like Kirk has a dark side, or even a sense of unpredictability to him.....intriguing, nah, I'll pass on that...

I do like MiniMoe's idea of the donation, maybe he can start with us as Iowa fans, I could some of his cashola.....:p

Maybe the word "Intriguing" is used with KF to question how does he still have this job or intriguing that he should be on the hot seat.
