Yahoo Sports! Puts Woodbury on top freshman to watch list

Can't wait to see him against guys like Payne (MSU) and Zeller (Indiana). We'll see exactly what we have after those match-ups. My gut tells me Payne will eat him alive and Zeller is just to athletic. I truly hope I am wrong.

I believe you nailed it. He is a great recruit and I'm glad we have him but he is only a 18 freshman. It's a big change from what he is use to. We'll see him dominate his Jr & Sr year.

It's a great class and I am looking forward to watching them learn and grow together as a team. If they avoid injuries and other issues there is no reason for them to not at some point be in the hunt for a Big Ten Conference title. The talent is there.

I must agree that the talent is there, BigD, raw talent and natural talent. Our D is already better without playing a game. As has been mentioned before, if Woody just stands under the basket on D, waving his arms in the air, we will be better. We were killed by weak D in the middle time and again, with players simply driving down the middle for an easy basket. Not any longer. Meyer will also have a say about that. He is a tough Lad used to playing with the best at home and on the AAU circuit.....

[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQKbTKX1Hh4&hd=1"]Kyle Meyer go coast to coast posterizing Jacob Obande - YouTube[/ame]

If we are being killed on the perimeter, we have Clemmons and Ingram to help out. These guys are professional thieves and will certainly be a factor on the press and half court trap......

Woody has proven that he can play with his peers on a national level. Remember this award:
Adam Woodbury named MVP at NBPA Top 100 Camp

That award is not handed out lightly.....

Woody know how to play with the best. Why do you think Roy was so determined to get him.....

If you are going to compare how he will play against Paine and Zeller, why not compare how he will play againt Tim Duncan or Dwight Howard. Ridiculous to compare how he will play against the best in the conference when he hasn't even finished high school yet.....

Rather than downplay his abilities, I prefer to believe that he will do very well. He will certainly give us a presence in the paint that has been lacking for years. To be on a list that includes Glenn Robinson 3 and Mitch McGary is lofty territory.....

I find it extremely difficult not to be excited by the incoming class, and the direction the program is taking. This recruiting class was very carefully picked by Fran and staff and the results will be noticable. Wait and see....

Again, pure speculation, same as everyone, simply offering an unbiased opinion.....

WOW. "Weak Sauce" is right Ghost. Almost kinda funny. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to see how we play / perform against the little sisters of the poor we'll be playing in non-conference. Who frickin cares about how we perform against the BIG and the best of the best. WOW.

You are aware that Adam is still in high school aren't you basketballman.....?

You probably didn't notice the excitement that was created when he chose the Hawkeyes over North Carolina. Ever wonder why Roy Williams was so rabid about signing Adam.....

Enjoy your Realistic negativity, bro, it fits you well.....

How old was Aaron White when he graduated from high school.......?

Jack, you claim that Roy Williams was "Rabid" about pursuing Woodbury, when in fact he didn't offer him until august.

In reality, Williams was rabid about Mitch McGary and Kaleb Tarczewski, and he didn't even offer Woodbury, when he got rejected by those two.

Please tell me that you are not serious ghost, You can not be that uninformed, if you are I would suggest that you stick to trolling the off topic forum.....

Please do your homework before posting such nonsense wasting my valuable time.....

This will be the last time I resort to your childish garbage......

Here goes.....

Dig, ghost.....

When did Adam get his UNC offer Jack? Because it was MONTHS after McGary and Tarczewski got their offers.

Facts, even facts you refuse to acknowledge, does not make trolling Jack.

Thanks, trollpunk, now I do not have to view your infantile posts. Grow up and become a man instead of a miserable little boy......

Ciao, fool

Jack, he was probably 20...:D

You make a good point with White though...he wasn't even highly touted and I think he was viewed as unathletic and weak...he ended up being alright.

Iowa to the NCAA tournament this year behind the veterans and a the mix of great young players.

Exactly the way I see it, Sportstalent.....

For some reason I think there will be another Aaron White style surprise this coming season. Mike G, Woody, Clemmons should be very capable but not necessarily a surprise considering their talent and potential, but Kyle Meyer reminds me a little of Aaron with his attitude.....

Thanks.....

:)

So, of course, the answer to the question is that McGary and Tarczewski were pursued by North Carolina much harder than they pursued Woodbury. Sorry you didn't want to hear that. Maybe you never will.
