WVU QB Will Grier Skipping Bowl Game

Didn't Bosa do that this year?
Yup he was hurt but it sounded like the last few weeks he could have been back if he wanted to.. I don't blame em. I mean if going to college is only being used as a spring board to get to the NFL then once you know your a sure fire top pick than why risk it? Your holding a lottery ticket if your Bosa. Now he could shred his knee and probably still get drafted like that Jaylen Smith now with the Cowboys did but he fell down the draft board and lost a ton of $ he can't ever make up. It's just situational for every player. The risk/reward is there for everyone but it's not the same.

For most players college football is the peak of their athletic careers. What we are talking about is the top 10-40ish players overall out of hundreds and hundreds if not thousands...

Even the possibility of getting in the playoffs probably wont be enough to keep 1st round draft picks playing in the future. Bosa quit when OSU still was very much in the playoff picture. If OSU had gotten into the playoffs, would Bosa have considered rejoining the team? Probably not. ( I'm assuming they would have taken him back even though he quit the team earlier in the season)

This is a good thing

The more people that skip the bowl games the worse the ratings get. The worse the ratings get the more sponsors drop out. The less sponsors, the less bowl games.

If this continues and worsens, then in 2023-24 when all the tv contracts expire we're gonna see a massive shakeup of college football. This should ultimately lead to expanded playoffs.

That's my hope anyway.

Absolutely. I live in Orlando area, and when I heard we were getting Outback, the first thing I told my wife was, "I'm not doing that again. I'm tired of that place". It didn't help that our last appearance there we hosted a tailgate that saw 3/4 of the people there not bring ANY food or drink, but still run through a ton of MY beers. No more.

So whats the word on Stanley sitting?
Dude needs all the reps he can get... Unless your a sure fire 1st rounder at the QB spot you stay and get more work. I don't think you'll see QBs leave early that are 3rd round grades or lower... Unless they just have a way out of wack self assessment of their talent. Which Stanley shouldn't be having anyway..

Hey it gives the back ups some great experience. Does it make your soup cold if your team loses some secondary bowl anyway? Good experience for the next guy coming in.
